Slipknot at Air Canada Center
Static-X - Phoenix night club

all in Toronto, On, Canada.

Both great shows, but i liked static-x more as it was in a smaller more enclosed area.

I just saw Kanye West last sunday. He was amaaazing!

As big as a rap fan I am, I know that rap concerts generally, well, suck ass. But Kanye was able to stay away from all those dumb things that rappers do like having a 'posse' on the stage rapping and shouting stuff like 'wheres my dawgs at'.

He was really energetic dancing around the stage and the coolest thing was, he had a live band. It was like an orchestra with strings and everything.

The only bad part of the concert was getting kicked out, but other than that we loved it.

A live band is what makes any show, IMO. Good for him; I wish more rap/hip-hop would bring bands on tour.

I went to the taste of chaos tour at Doncaster Dome last month.Saw Reggie and the Full Effect and Rise Against for the first time. Also Story of the Year Killswitch Engage and The Used were all amazing!!!

I saw the Moody Blues at the Orpheum in Omaha (a wonderful venue, by the way) last month. Even now that Ray Thomas has retired, they're still amazing; Justin Hayward's voice continues to amaze me.

I'm just hoping that Keane will come to Omaha or Council Bluffs soon.

I saw the Moody Blues the last time they were here in March of 2003, right after Ray Thomas retired. While I definitely missed Ray's flute playing, they put on a great show. I hope they come back again soon.

I saw Bebel Gilberto @ The House of Blues, in San Diego, September 9th, 2005 - drank too many mojitos, yet enjoyed the show. :D

Currently, I am checking ticketmasterdotcom for any shows in the Seattle or Portland areas. I know Pink Martini is playing Seattle on the 28th and Portland on New Years Eve. :)

The last "big" show I went to was NIN at the Hollywood bowl back in October. A couple of weeks ago I went to see a small band calledPorcelain (a very good band, they just signed w/Universal and will have their debut label release out in June, IIRC), and next week I'm going to see the Dresden Dolls.

Just got back from Vegas today (CES, AVN, and other good stuff) and managed to catch John Digweed spinning a 3-hour set at Ice Saturday night - amazing experience, the best I've had when it comes to music concerts, shows, etc. in quite a while.

I just bought tix to see Bela Fleck and the Flecktones in March!
Oooh! That sounds like so much fun. I've only heard a song or two with the whole group but I got to see Victor Wooten with an Indian guitar player... very small, intimate venue. I got Wooten to sign my CD and ticket stub. :D

Very cool :) Victor Wooten is an amazing bassist.

I saw them once before, a couple years ago. I'm looking forward to seeing them again--they are amazing in concert!

He really is.

Having played violin and listening to alternative/rock, it seems like most electric bass parts are simple and dare I say, easy?

Victor Wooten completely blew me away! At one point, I could not distinguish any of his fingers-- just a blur of color hovering all over the fingerboard. :p

The last time I saw them they opened with this song...it was awesome! It really showcases the whole band's abilities.

Anyone who hasn't heard this band owes it to themselves to pay $.99 for this song and check them out :)

I just got back from Coldplay at GM Place. All I can say is wow. We had 5th row floor seats and it was amazing. Chris Martin is really energetic and just puts on a great show. wow.

They are definitely a decent group, I totally admit that, but I just can't stand how overrated they are, how their music is so overplayed to death, and how full of themselves they are in interviews and the like. They're good, but not that good. Glad you enjoyed the show though! :)

Hey Shard, what sort of music was Digweed playing these days? I haven't seen him or Sasha for a loooooong time.

Tough to describe really, I'd say prog house/trance, but mostly on the prog side. The set he played at Ice in Vegas though was pretty driving as well, so it was deceptive. He was mixing it up really well, so it was tough to describe - I guess that's a good thing. ;) There were definitely a few moments when I said to myself, "This is what defines Digweed".

The boyfriend and I just got tickets to see the Violent Femmes at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz, Feb. 2nd. :p
