Talk about jumping on the band wagon. Some Scottish politician want Scotland to have their own national team at 2012. I have no issues with it what so ever but he needs to remember where most of the funding for teamGB comes from... Political rant over!!!

On a good note, nice to see Chris Hoy will be carrying the Union flag for teamGB at the closing ceremony.

For the first time teamGB were set real targets for the games and on the whole they achieved the targets (41 medals of which 1/3 to be gold)

The original target of 12 golds was changed half way through the games by the BOC set a new target of 20 golds. That, I think was a little unfair, they moved the goal posts.

As a Scottish person I find the whole thing totally ridiculous. Where does Chris Hoy train? Manchester. Why? Because that's where the best facilities in the UK are along with the specialist training. Part of the reason he did so well was that he was part of a larger team. The team as a whole support and push each other onwards. As a part of a Scottish team he would probably not do as well.

Then again I think the whole Scottish independence thing is totally stupid anyway. At an economic level it'd be totally disastrous.

yeah Spain pulled within 4 with about 2-3 min left in the fourth but then kobe just rubbed in some 3s to pull away...was really rooting for spain (love jose calderon and pau gasol).
great fight, but kudos to Chris Bosh and team USA for gold!
(ps. you may be able to tell im a Raptors fan from the love for Calderon and CB4 :p)

just saw us win the men's basketball gold medal. so incredibly proud of the usa.

i guess it doesn't pay to be racist.

And that's all folks.

Really enjoyed these Olympics. Some amazing performances and thankfully very little controversy.

Here's to London 2012...

Oh and is it only me or does the 2012 logo look like Lisa Simpson giving head

Oh god... Boris has arrived in Beijing :D

I was watching the gold metal game, then I must have dosed off because when I woke up USA was celebrating. Oh well at least we won.:)

^ Spain got very close to USA's score in the 4th but in the end USA held on. i dont know why but i so wanted the Redeem Team to lose to Spain.

Same here. I've been cheering for the underdogs the whole Olympics. It would have been amazing to see the Spanish celebrating their win, coming from behind and beating the favored team.

The Olympics are not about kicking somebody's a**.

For the record, China topped the medal table. The official table (as used by the IOC and just about every other country in the Olympics) use number of golds then silver and finally bronze medals to work out who came top.

Thought that was about kicking them in the head (unless you are British, then you have to get the blind judges decision corrected)

I put down Phelps, but Bolt easily comes close.

If the gymnastics (for women) weren't under so much scrutiny, I'd probably have asked that one of the two gymnasts be an option.
