A good idea, but one that renders nightstand mode totally useless.

But its only 5 inches wide.

Seems to me that nightstand mode will be fine even with the closed loop straps, as the post is small enough to fit inside the strap.

With the open straps, no problem of course.....

Nightstand mode is pointless if you have to tap the screen to see the time though. It doesn't even have the functionality of a 30 year old digital clock. I can see why it wasn't considered in the design because it's an utterly stupid feature.

to each their own. I like the fact it doesn't stay on and light my room up like a christmas tree. You just have to tap the table it sits on to activate it.

But does it pass the pet test? Can the kitty rub on it without knocking the phone or watch off? These are the questions we truly need answered!

Yes! MR land needs to know! So many shitt* kitties out there causing cat-tastrophes!

Really like the idea of it but the styling leaves much to be desired. One color? Chrome and aluminum and a black iPhone base? That charging brick?

The charging brick is the worst offense, IMHO. I thought Apple was finally making some progress turning the tide in that area with other companies.

Nope, I actually like it better than my old digital alarm clock, as the old clock is always on and creating light in the room. With my watch I just tap the nightstand itself and it lights up. Any motion detected by the accelerometer makes the screen turn on for a few seconds.

It's a nice looking stand. I want to charge my iPad too and of course, nightstand mode as said already. It looks good, but its missing what I need. I made my own from wood.

Get an Enblue One W3 Dock ( http://9to5mac.com/2015/08/05/revie...ding-all-in-one-dock-apple-watch-iphone-ipad/ ) for exactly that.

I have one and it is amazing. Nightstand works (use it daily), iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch all charge at the same time (the power supply is powerful enough). An Apple Watch cable / puck needs to be supplied however.

Take a step back. Ever get the feeling you've been conned? A glorified tie rack with a plug on the end for £100 for a £350 watch that needs charging every day. But one of the 'features' being you can use it as a £5 LED digital 'clock' - the only thing being unlike a real clock you have to switch it on to see the time. If this is technological 'progress' then build me a time machine to go back ten years and try again .... good grief, readers where did we go wrong .... o_O

No, It would be better if you could make the choice yourself: Some people would prefer it to be dark most of the time, others would like a constant display on while charging.

Software would make both possible.

But, will it blend?

WAIT!!!

What about Otterbox devotees? Will someone need to come up with a lightening extension just to get these charging bases to work with the Otterbox? I'm getting sick of that.

I can't understand the pricing and who it's supposed to appeal to. I get that it's convenient to have both chargers in one, but you can get the really nice Twelve South HiRise docks for both the phone & watch for much less.

If this was first party sure, you could say the premium is because it's made by Apple and it's 'official'. But $130 for Belkin, the same guys that sell a $25 router?

Seconded. Got it off the kickstarter campaign and it works very well. Have to say a bit more handsome than this dental device.

I may be in the minority since I'm a cheapo when it comes to accessories but $130 seems a tad pricey for what it does -- and I say then even as I bought, and enjoy, the $1800 GPS/full screen option on my car.

I'm not immune from spending $ but the manufacture has to at least give me half a reason for me to justify overpaying. And the GPS was just 2% of the car price. At $130 this stand would be about 35% of what I paid for my AW -- just to have a place to hang it. There are plenty of similar stands for 80% less. I made one out of a wood floor sample for free.

IMO it's a good idea, elegant and a quick, easy way to place your items at bed time. As for the nightstand feature, it's worthless anyway, the only time you'll see it is when plugging it in and when picking it up in the morning.

Seems like 3rd party vendors are trying to make well off items like this. First, the Nomad at $60 and then this at $130. WAYYYY Overpriced.....
Sorry, other cheaper (and better looking) alternatives are out there.

I think the dual charger looks pretty nice. My only concern (especially when it comes to buy Belkin'$ products) is when iPhone 7 comes out it may have a redesign and this charger won't fit it. Wasted money. Belkin is so overpriced for marginally better stuff.

You don't have to tap on the screen, It uses the accelerometer to detect any movement, so if you just touch the watch somehow it will activate. It works very well in my opinion.
