I’m so glad that for my impossible to recycle AirPods I can buy a ton of packaging and plastic just to clean it with. When is the motorized UV light cleaner with home kit coming out?

Would be cheaper and easier to just make cleaning out your ear canals part of a daily hygiene routine.
Hi, don’t do this! The ideal frequency for you to be inserting things into your ear canal is never, and in healthy conditions a quick swab of the outer aspect with a q-tip about once a week is plenty to keep your ears clean. Your ear canal self-cleans.

Yeah this is very expensive and a lot of bits of plastic just to be used once and thrown away, really unappealing.

Yeah I thought the earwax IS the ear-self cleaning? I don't use q-tips ever. Last time I did, I impacted the earwax and had to get it removed at the doctor. Never again!

Exactly this. Excessive wax production is a sign of something more serious you may want to get a doctor to look at, but aside from that, leave it alone! It’s normal!

I have the Bose QC 1 Buds. At the end of each day that I use them, I clean them with a paper towel dabbed in 70%/90% isopropyl alcohol. My earbuds look brand new. I do same same thing with my phones and Apple Watch.

I brought a new pair of airpods to the Apple store and showed them how much ear wax was in them right out of the box, and they hit me with the "within acceptable tolerance" mantra and threw me out.

So this Belkin product will come in handy.

(it's a joke guys)
I was Grossed out just thinking about that.

/sigh... I should have known better.

I read the article title, rolled my eyes and said to myself "oh boy, what stupid price will this have?"

Then I skimmed the article and said to myself "hmm, $14.99 isn't that bad"

Then I re-read and see:

It seems to be designed to be a one-time use kit as the cleaning components are provided in small quantities, and the cleaning gel in particular says that it must be used within two hours of opening.

I should have known better. No excuse for it being single use.

I clean my AP with soft tissue and disinfectant (70%) every other day. Rarely I need to clean with cotton swab. When I had Sony Wf1000xm3 ( Sony's product naming division must be awarded), I used memory foam ear tips for a while. They were causing really bad smell. Sometimes I left them in soapy water to clean. It wasn't helping much. Silicone ear tips are the best to keep clean.

Ummm... I never said you should insert anything into your ear.

Honestly glad that I hardly have any ear wax. Although about once every week or two I take a bath and I fully submerge my ears and turn my head so the hot water gets in deeper. That probably helps!

When I first got the first gen AirPods Pro, I let my daughter try them because she wanted to experience the noise cancellation. Never again. IDK how people deal with so much wax!
