I wish the MagSafe didn't have the magnet. I preferred my third party Qi charger for my 11 Pro Max. I just set it down and picked it up.
I’m trying to understand how MagSafe is so much more inconvenient? And you can still use your regular Qi charger you just gonna charge SLOW

I didn't know people thought charging their device was so fascinating. $140 to do the exact same thing that a normal charger does. Either way I wake up in the morning with my phone at 100%....I guess I don't get it.

That's not the point. I have same opinion as @Mac Prodigy.

I pick up and put down my phone into a simple Qi wireless charger a million times each day.
(hmm... what's the actual average # that studies report? maybe dozens or hundreds?)

I don't have to pull it off a strong magnet.

In my car I'd appreciate that. In my office, my house, No. Completely unnecessary.
Don’t buy it then... I love it... as my phone is charging continuously and if I get up and trip over the cord my lightning port isn’t compromised

It's the only current 3-1 on the market that will charge at these speeds.

I think this sums it up...

MagSafe Pros:
• It's easier to place an iPhone on the charger, because it snaps into place.
• It charges twice as fast.

MagSafe Cons:
• It's more difficult to remove the phone from the charger.

Wow, though it looks tempting, $140+tax =$154 is $100 too much for my blood.

Agreed. While it looks nicer aesthetically vs. this option that I picked up from Amazon, it’s not worth the extra $100 in price. And mine has a much smaller footprint.

And before the first comment that it doesn’t charge as fast—couldn’t care less as this is on my nightstand for overnight charging.

I ordered mine, in white, for delivery on Wednesday. I also have the Duo, but that will be used more for traveling. This will be more of a permanent solution for my nightstand.

Oh ok, I guess my phone and watch could done charging 6 hours before I wake up instead of 2-3 hours before I wake up.
This is really such an ignorant take. Some people charge their phones throughout the day and want faster speeds than 7.5W. Also I'm going to use mine for my home office. If all you need is something for your nightstand to charge overnight then yeah it is overkill in a sense. But that doesn't apply to all use cases and you should know that already.

If you're needing to do that, chances are you're doing something wrong (usage and habit wise). Wired fast charging is for you.

We can agree to disagree. To each their own. Maybe one day they will release a "Safe" charger, that doesn't have the magnet. Then we will both have something we like.
How baffed can you be? He couldn’t have said it any simpler for you. The iPhone 12 lineup is compatible with both MagSafe and Qi chargers. That means you can literally go and get a Qi charger and that will give you this “Safe” charger you dream about with no magnets. I’m guessing you already know that and your ignorance is just an act  but thought I’d clarify incase you‘re confusing other people.

I don’t want or need wired charging. I want wireless charging and right now MagSafe is fastest for that.
If you have to break off the magnetic puck, you might as well be wired. Argue all you want, it is not as simple as just grabbing your iPhone off of or setting your phone down on a Qi wireless charger. Faster Qi wireless charging is what is needed.

Dude are you serious? You are literally removing the iPhone off the Belkin 3-1 in a swift motion just as you remove your phone from a wireless charger. The difference is a little magnet resistance which for some reason bothers you so greatly. (Which I simply don’t understand your aversion to.) Wired changing is something else entirely.

And please point me to a Certified Qi wireless charging puck, sold by Apple, for the iPhone 12 Pro Max that can charge at 15w. I’ll wait.

I’m referring to MagSafe, and have been since my OP.

Also, you should simmer down. Your BP is probably at stroke level at this point.

I saw a tweet -
But it doesn’t look like it’s actually available yet.

It’s available in Japan though - https://store.apple.com/jp/xc/product/HPGA2J/A

I asked Belkin on Twitter about UK release and they said “soon” so I guess it should also be available elsewhere around the same time.
Thank you very much for the info, I didn’t see that. Still not on Canada Apple Store but I’ll look forward in the days to come

I had the original Valet and have used it every day since it came out and it still is as beautiful as when I got it. I know $140 is a lot for a charger, but the life of the product is unmatched.
