By spending yet more money.

Apple have done a lot of things but they've never done this before ie make you spend additional money to use what's in the original box.

I'm going to buy a 128GB 7Plus. If I'm worried about spending another $40 after buying a $869 dollar phone there is something wrong with me. The BEST solution for people who don't want to deal with it and/or buy an adapter - Don't buy the phone.

Apple should have just included Bluetooth EarPods with iPhone 7. This is getting ridiculous now. Adapters are a hassle to carry around and it's just ugly looking. If they really want to step into the future, they should have gone Bluetooth instead of lightening headphones.

Friendly reminder, this is how it'll look when trying to listen to audio and charge at the same time:

It's not about ability to pay FFS. If Samsung pulled this MR would be alight with people digging them out.

I'm done for the night. Apple fanbois on a different planet as usual.

Well because people are spending almost $900 and even $1000 for a phone, you shouldn't have to purchase additional adapters. Apple should have included something like this Belkin adapter with the iPhone.

Huh. The bluetooth in all three of my vehicles handles all these situations seamlessly.

Good for you!

But for some, we don't want or have BT in our cars.

I don't like Bluetooth for phone calls.
With BT, everyone in my vehicle, and people outside of my car, can hear my conversation. I cannot understand the conversation as well over BT when compared to the earbuds, not to mention the annoying echo. When I am going topless, there is too much noise for Bluetooth.

Plus, not all my vehicles have BT.

I realize not everyone has the same issues that I have, but my post was in reply to:
To clarify - You drive around with headphones on?

Here is an example that happens to me everyday.

I have my iPhone plugged into my cars' head units with lightning, and the earbuds plugged into the headphone jack.

I don't listen to music while driving, but I use siri, make phone calls, pause music quickly for the head units without buttons.

That's me too....except I use a Bluetooth headset. Driving with wires coming close to the steering wheel or your hands can turn out bad.

Don't buy the phone. If sales are down and Apple can tie it back to this maybe they'll do something about it in the future.

Like their use cases have drifted from Apple's product line and they should probably be looking at other products to suit their needs better but they apparently don't want to do that? Because that's how a lot of this comes off to me too.

I don't know, but I do know that people tend to be change-averse and love to vent/complain.

The strange thing is, you'd think people would be used to it by now. How many iterations of the USB standard alone have we gone through? Get an adapter and move on or stick with current technology for as long as you can... nothing's changed in that regard.

It just boggles my mind how some people are getting so fixated and upset over this.

You do realize that it's 2016 now, right? Why not just complain because Apple doesn't give you a free adapter to work on 8-track?

Also, sorry, but if you don't have a car newer than one from 2007, then perhaps spending $650+ on a brand new iPhone 7 shouldn't be your priority right now.
Lol! You know people keep older cars for different reasons right?
NBA star Kawhi Leonard daily drives a 1991 acura Legend. I guess your advice to him is he should not spend place priority $650 on a phone right? I am sure he has more money than you.

Some persons see cars as something that gets them from Point A to Point B and don't see the need to upgrade if it does just that.

I drive a modified Lexus with almost 500 whp. That is better than any 2016 compact car IMO.

If everyone took your stupid advice iPhone sales would drop by at least 50% since almost every kid who has an iPhone can't afford a car, much less a car newer than 2007.

I don't even care about the new iPhone I was just correcting someone who said most people cars have USB or Bluetooth which is incorrect. You thought it was fit to give me advice that I did not ask or care for.

And how many use the aux port, if they even have one, most cars didn't?
Honestly I have no idea how many use the aux port. I was just trying to say your statement was incorrect since a large part of the population does not drive a 2007+ car.

For me it is not a big deal because I don't use an iPhone as my daily driver. My objection with it is I don't like the idea of wireless earphones because I have to remember to charge them. I have 2 pairs and they haven't been charged since 2016 started Lol.

Or, just a thought, as someone who occasionally uses an older model car for road trips, you have several easy solutions. First, use an adapter like Belkins, there will be many more, or when you are on a long road trip, for most people something that rarely occurs, all you have to do is charge up your phone occasionally, *you get to about 80% in about 20 minutes. Second, you sound intelligent so you can't be so dependent on the GPS that you need to have it on for every bit of highway driving over long distances. Finally, you are describing a problem that doesn't really exist for you. If you aren't trying to listen to music, then the iPhone volume is loud enough that you don't need to "hear it over the radio system." Indeed, you would be an ideal candidate for the iPhone 7, since it has a new stereo speaker system built in with twice the volume of the previous one. You see you can relax as despite what the trollers are trying to convince you of, you have multiple solutions.

Well i'm getting the 7 simply because I am on the yearly upgrade program with my carrier so it is what it is. I've tried several BT adaptors and haven't been satisfied. No, I am not on large trips everyday. However, I do take them 1-2x/month. I'm not going to take these trips in silence. That would be pure torture! My radio is usually loud and i'm jamming down the highway. Currently I connect to my Aux and listen to Pandora or my music library. The tunes fades out for directions then return to normal. What I meant when I said I am not using 3.5mm port for listening to music is because that's not the soul purpose. The purpose is to hear the navigation. Maybe this will be fixed with the 7. Don't know until it is in my hands. Either way I (and everyone else) will adapt and make the new phone work. I still think 1 single adaptor with a lightning port and 3.5mm port will be appreciated by many. Apple has many dual adaptors for older "out dated" technology. Add this combo to the line up.

Rearrange their lives?? My god it's an adaptor, literally for students and people at a desk you could get the apple dock that has the audio jack built in, if this is "rearranging your life" I'd hate to see how you handle...you know, actual change. "Omg they are out of oranges! Now I'm gonna have to rearrange my whole life to eat a banana or go to another store or just wait until the oranges come back in stock, or get orange juice, this is too much to handle"

LOL. Well said. Some of the comments in this thread are just nuts.

Friendly reminder that only a few people do that and no one cares what you have to say since all you do is troll / call folks liars.

But keep being mad. It's hilarious.

Holy crap, what a smug and arrogant thing to say. My dream car is a 1993 Porsche 993.... care to enlighten us with more assumptions?

Why should one automatically expect a 23 year old car to work smoothly with current technology without some form of adaptor or modification?

Feel free to complain more about stuff like this, though.

So you were rude because other people were being rude, and you were vague because you didn't want to bother. Got it. The funny thing is, I agree with your actual point. I just don't agree with your discourse. But that's life, I suppose.
This ^^^. Apple is likely doing the right thing. It will cause me some trouble, but I'll survive just fine. But let's not go around hoping that others will suffer, simply because they are different from us.
