Belkin's new Car Vent Mount PRO with MagSafe for iPhone 12 models is now available to order through Apple's online store, with pricing set at $39.95 in the United States. Apple is quoting delivery in the first week of December as of writing.

The mount has a built-in clip that attaches to a vent in a vehicle, and MagSafe allows an iPhone 12 model to be magnetically attached with ease. An integrated ball joint allows the iPhone to be flipped from portrait to landscape with one hand. The mount has a slim profile with cable management on the back for storing a Lightning cable, but note that the mount itself does not function as a charging pad.

The Car Vent Mount PRO is not yet available to order through Belkin's own website, and we're still waiting on its BOOST↑CHARGE PRO 3-in-1 Wireless Charger with MagSafe, which is expected to be available in "winter 2020."

Apple's website has a page with all available MagSafe accessories, including its MagSafe Charger and Leather Wallet. Apple says its MagSafe Duo Charger and Leather Sleeve for iPhone 12 models are "coming soon" for $129 each.

MagSafe is a new feature on all iPhone 12 models that allows for magnetic accessories to be attached to the back of the devices.

Your iPhone will fall off so easily
It will be interesting to see if they used stronger magnets than Apple is recommending for MagSafe devices. I agree that the 12’s, especially the Pro Max’s, are likely to not be as secure as you’d want. Especially given how it’s easier to break a magnetic bond using quick impacts against the main magnetic force, which is what gravity and bumps will do in a car.

It’s 2020 and my new car has no place to put my iPhone. What an epic design fail.

Have to use suction cup mounts on the side walls of the console recess to hold my two iPhone devices for my GIG job.

I suppose I could use the useless touch panel CarPlay screen, that’s a smooth surface.

If I have to use a vent to hold my iPhone and keep it cool that’s a product fail of the phone manufacturer.

I don't doubt that the magnet will hold, I just don't see how the plastic air vents will support the weight of the phone + the Belkin doo dad. I've used clips before that mount on the air vent with lighter phones and they do slide out, so I don't know how this will be much different.

Interested to see the reviews though once people get them in hand.

That would be my concern. Based on reviews of things like the wallet the magnet on the phone isn't very secure at all. I'm wondering if more magnets can be added to things like these mounts to make for a more secure fit. I also really hate those vent mounts, they are just very cheaply attached, not very secure (and even if they are secure they still move/shake a lot), and are setup so the phone gets constant blasts of hot or cold air. For the premium prices being charged here I would rather see some sort of universal bracket maybe tied to a vehicle specific mount such as Proclip has. Belkin can include both a universal bracket that attaches to a vent clip and include said vent clip and then separately sell the vehicle specific mount.
