Still don’t know why people in here thought this was going to not work. These are being sold by a major company and it sells in the apple store. Didn’t have doubts this would drop phones.

Just received mine and initial impression is yes, it looks fantastic, both fit and finish.

But my 12 Pro - in the Apple clear case - well, the magnet hold is very similar to the slippy naked (ooh-er) iPhone experience the review guy shows. It's VERY easily uncoupled, nothing like shown in his video either in hand or installed. Might be the case itself.

I'm not at all reassured but will be very nervously trying this out in my Audi later.

reviews seem very good and ideal for those who are tired of putting it on the seat all the time

people do this? Ive never in the 12 years of owning iPhones put my phone on the seat

Where else would you put it? It’s either that or your pocket and me personally would rather not put such a big device in my pocket certainly not with work trousers where it’s not a secure pocket

ive kept it in my pants on short drives. But ive always had a mount for my phone ever since I could remember. Used to be a cupholder mount then cig lighter mount and its moved up higher now. Ive never just tossed my phone on my seat. Id rather keep it in my pants if I don't plan on using it for music.

Fair enough, for me just putting it on my seat has been the natural thing to do for me. Something like this would get used but working from home the car is barely used at the moment so will wait many months before I pick one up

Received one from Apple today and tested with iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro. I don't have any MagSafe cases, and I'm sure this will not work with any non-MagSafe case.

Without a case, both iPhones click on fairly firmly to the mount. They seem secure, but I was able to shake the phone loose. Still I think I'd be more concerned about the vent side coming loose from a bump. When you pull the phone off it sounds like t part is clicking inside the mount.

I didn't like Apple's clear MagSafe case, so I ended up with Spigen and Nudient clear cases. They do not work; the phone will attach, but not securely. You can shake off even the 12 mini. Both cases work fine with MagSafe charging though.

Doubt you’d ever experience what you are doing in that video in a car unless you crashed into something. That’s a fast downward movement.

I'll just say that driving around all day with the MagSafe Vent Mount and my 12 Pro, there were no issues. Certainly secure enough. And damn convenient. -Click-

That said, you're going to have to buy a MagSafe case or go bare.
