Your iPhone will fall off so easily
Agreed. Definitely sticking with my current solution.

and if I understand that right - this works for all iPhone12 sizes...

Looking forward to reading about how my iPhone flew off the mount because the magnets aren’t strong enough lol

folks the iPhone can’t hold a wallet securely. What makes you think it’s going to hold it’s own weight?!

The mount can have its own, stronger magnets that align-match the iPhone's... the wallet seems to have more "passive" magnetic attachment and certainly is an epic fail but then again its not like this mount and the wallet have the same counter-magnets so to speak...

Hopefully they've considered the difference in weight between the iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max

It would be a disaster if the heavier Pro Max didn't stick as well...

:p

It’s 2020 and my new car has no place to put my iPhone. What an epic design fail.

Have to use suction cup mounts on the side walls of the console recess to hold my two iPhone devices for my GIG job.

I suppose I could use the useless touch panel CarPlay screen, that’s a smooth surface.

If I have to use a vent to hold my iPhone and keep it cool that’s a product fail of the phone manufacturer.
How is the design flaw of your car a fail of the phone manufacturer?
And also, think about the countries and regions where the vents are not there to cool down the car...

Quadlock is the way to go for phone mounting. Car, motorcycle, bike.... They have a wireless charging thingy too for those not plugging for Carplay.

How good does the clip stay on the vents that are not designed to hold the weight of a phone?
Probably just fine. I have a similar style that works really well. Has never fallen off in the three years I've used it.

I think it depends on the car. I had a Expedition that didn’t work at all, but my volt has no issues.

I have a 3rd party magnetic holder in my car for my old phone and they hold just fine.

My concern with this is does it work with the Apple MagSafe case on it? If it does I'll get one but I'll wait to hear if that's true.

I don't doubt that the magnet will hold, I just don't see how the plastic air vents will support the weight of the phone + the Belkin doo dad. I've used clips before that mount on the air vent with lighter phones and they do slide out, so I don't know how this will be much different.

Interested to see the reviews though once people get them in hand.
My old magnetic one supported my cased iPhone 7s without a problem.

Since it doesn't charge your phone, I still haven't seen a good justification of a MagSafe vent mount over something like this. It's cheaper, you get two, and it's much less weight on the vent.

Seems unstable, I'll be waiting for the ProClip solution.
I just got a new car and was hesitant on getting the pro clip mount. I like it don't get me wrong, but its so ugly looking on the dash. 😂 and I'm not sure I need it as I have wireless CarPlay
I have to see about a custom solution hopefully a charger as well
