Publishing fraudulent information with intent to defame doesn't warrant Apple disassociating themselves?

Uh, no, sorry thats basically the definition of when to disassociate yourself.

----------

No it won't. People that have a clue understand why they did this.

People that want to believe in fantasies and also come across this bit of information.....number in the hundreds, I would suspect.

Hopefully this will teach other media outlets that truth is more important than click-bait blitz...jumping on a viral trend is despicable, and news media do it for no other reason than average joe gorilla looking backwards wearing loser do....money.

Well, now they just lost out on future click-bait revenue by ever having anything of value to say about Apple again.

You need to look up the definition of fraudulent .

They could fix it silently for future manufacturing releases of the existing product :)

This does happen, manufacturing process are improved during the life cycle of the product. Remember my iMac of launch and 2 years later when a lot of parts were replaced under AppleCare, wow what an improvement , especially the screen!!!

Question is, does apple admit it's an issue. Too early to tell as most people have not recieved thier plus models , most will start arriving next week onwards (pre-order online)

Nope

You're dreaming....there's no bending issue unless you bend your phone with your bare hands

Is that based on aluminium not bending or that's it's impossible to have force applied to a 5.5 inch phone when it put in your pocket ??

9 phones is a whooping 0,00009% of sold iPhones.

100 thousand bent iPhones would make it a whopping 1% of sold iPhones. Still then Apple wouldn't do anything about it

I find it fascinating how a big company like Apple could play down issues if they wanted to simply by manufacturing enough phones that drive the discrete statistic down to a negligible percentage. What a tactic.

Sure, and tacitly admit that a problem exists where there is no real problem thereby falling right into Samsung's hands and creating a self inflicted PR disaster. As if Apple was being managed by first year business majors at the DeVry Institute.

"Bendgate" video = Apple banning media outlet

Because a rediculous post hoc rationalization like that is supposed to be taken seriously in any way, shape or form?

Tim Cook "Yeah, we're not actually making 10 million of these for the launch because we expect to sell that many. We're building 10 million so that the whole bending issue won't look as bad when it comes to light."

Get real.

Apple has done it before. Silently updating the rMBP screens to not exhibit image retention comes to mind.

Why does everyone fail in working out the % ? The ones that are being reported are the plus models, the total figure sold is all iPhones sold. The plus models were is very short supply for launch.

Samsung doesn't need Apple to tacitly admit anything.
The damage is already done, Samsung has already capitalized on it, and its not the first time they have made an ad that has inflicted PR disasters at Apple without Apple actually doing anything "wrong" except jip the consumers out of features Apple chose to "withold" for future devices.

Maybe the 3rd party Advertising firm they were using were less experienced than the ones at samsung.
Why else would there be tension.

That, and it's very possible that there have been more complaints since Apple made that statement. Also worth mentioning that companies as large as Apple are very good at obfuscating things like that

Hardly. Samsung's inept smear ads tend to enhance Apple's PR, not damage it.

Except that the 6 is more prone to bending... While the Plus is more prone to FUD.

Think about it.

Happens to all manafactures . Open up a pc or look at the back of a monitor and it will have a version number or revision number etc, from the launch of the product to its last version, changes are made. Hence if you ever flashed Hardware on devices you need to check the revision .

Apple hides this, and supplies updates that cover all revisions that the customer does not realise. It's a much cleaner approach.

Bendgate story is slowly dying out and fandroids seem to be clutching at straws out of desperation..

Enhance? Why don't you ask Phil Schiller that question or pull up that Macrumors post about his dissatisfaction with their 3rd party advertising agency.

Ding ding ding.

Their dissatisfaction with TWA Chiat-Day really has no bearing on this at all. Bringing it up is a red herring.

Damage has been done. Everyone that sees my iPhone plus asks me if it bends. Like a bad joke.

While It might not be in the news, this bad joke is still got plenty of life in it ....

Its not a red herring, their dissatisfaction came from the negative pressure senior management felt from Samsung's advertising.

Not when it becomes a PR issue.

Still a red herring. It speaks to the lack of effectiveness of TBWA Chiat Day. Different issue.
