"Bendgate" Video Faked?

He's concentrating the entire torque of his hands on ONE edge of the device. Hell, any device can bend if you concentrate enough force on ONE side of a device.

So explain why the time of the conclusion is 30 minutes before the bend test. Like I said, the software somehow was affected by the bending (nope), the conclusion was done the next day (very possible), or the test was faked (possible).

How you can just blow off the times on the phone's display makes it sound more like you're the one in denial.

The date is the same at both times, the 23rd. The only other explanation would be if he recorded the bending part at 2:26AM and the conclusion at 1:58PM.

Where are you guys seeing 2:26pm? I see the 1:58, but not 2:26

You see the time at 1:39 in the video. Here is a direct link to the video at that point in the video.

I SAW THIS A COUPLE DAYS AGO !!!!!! I didn't think it was that important but now i happy someone else brought it up!!! I would bet anything Samsung planed all this crap against Apple!

Very strange the time of the clock, also I have been saying since yesterday that it is not fair to test an already fractured iphone like the one from the test.

Everybody knows that a fractured aluminum is easier to bend than a perfect one.

I would like to see the same guy to make a bend test with a 100% perfect iphone 6 + or a new iphone 6+. I bet that maybe he is not going to bend it like on the video, or he will have to make a better effort to bend the iphone.

I am sure that the iphone 6 he tested does not bend because it was 100% perfect without any fracture.

The iphone 6 + could be reinforced to make it better, all of this is good for Apple and customers because maybe Apple will decide to fix this issue in the next iphone or in this one.

Since the iphone 5 we have seen the bend issue, it is time that Apple does something about this, they have the money and they have the technology to make better phones.

Also what nobody is saying is that when aluminum is hotter it bends easier, maybe because of this the iphone 6 + is bending easier while in your pocket.

You'd need A LOT MORE hear for that. Trust me, if your pants are THAT tight and pockets are THAT small, it will hurt your leg before it will bend. It's the world we live in today. People see the opportunity to get clicks and views to make money on and they jump on it. We live in a world where people bend their phones ON PURPOSE now. After we went to the moon, after we built the pyramids. Really, humanity?

I also think it's fake but he could have changed the time manually just to mess with people. Unlikely but possible.

Here is a picture of his watch at the start. I could not see the time of his watch later.

Look the time of his clock it shows: 1.56

What I found weird about this video the first time I watched it is that he says that his focus was on the center of the phone, but looks like it bends near the volume rockers on the side more.. but he wasn't pushing on the middle; his thumbs were right on the side by the volume rockers and were bending it there, it's not because it's a more vulnerable area, it's because that's where he was bending it.

The video is FAKE. He said the phone slightly bent from normal use but there was a fatigue line which means it was bent back and forth several times to make it weak. A photo on 1:28min.

You don't think it's weird that he gave his conclusions, with his bent phone, 30 minutes before he performed the "Bend test"?

Not saying that this is what happened, but it is entirely possible that he did a bend test just for kicks before planning to record it and put it online (thinking there is no way it would bend) and after he found the surprising result, he started recording and re-did the bend test (which explains why the phone was pre-bent). A lot of videos are cut before publishing.

Either way, I wouldn't lend too much credence either way. In my opinion, a few devices had a problem. Probably at a rate much lower than other failure types that plague every product launch.

AFTER BEND

NOTICE THE PHONE DOESNT DISPLAY THE CARRIER OR BATTERY ANYMORE ALSO. THE DATES MATCH UP AND THE TIME STAMPS DO NO MATCH UP. THIS IS 100% FAKE.

The phone doesn't display the carrier in that pic because his finger triggered the notification window, and it is occluding the carrier bar.

I suppose another explanation is he used more than one phone? A second phone for the overhead shots.

Have to agrees with the above, watch the video on high res. There does to my mind appear to be what looks like a vertical fracture line at the corner of the switches before the bending starts.

His finger is no where near the notification. That little line disappears if you don't swipe it down all the way to open it.

"Bendgate" Video Faked?

He's applying different pressure points in the iPhone and the Galaxy. In the iPhone he's clearly paying attention to the upper side near the rocker and his thumbs are a bit separated. In the galaxy his thumbs are very closed together in the center. This is eye trickery, but yes it Bends it that weak point.
The test itself is not that scientific, welcome to the Internet.

While this doesn't solve the issue of whether or not Lewis' video was faked (I sincerely doubt it was), it completely replicates what he did. Guess what? Exact same results. They even try to bend the Note 3, they even apply pressure to the Note 3 in the same place the 6 Plus bent. Does that mean it will bend in your pocket? I don't know, all I know is that judging by what I've seen the 6 Plus bends much more easily than other phones in the same size bracket, and there have already been some reports (again...I don't know for sure that they are completely true) that the 6 Plus has bent just from being kept in the front pocket. Food for thought.

I though the guy was going to break his fingers lol. Seriously, i'd never try that even on my old 4S (which is super bulky) let alone on an aluminium phone. I've never really broken anything in my life, but i guess i'm just super careful. Since, you know, stuff costs 1000+ euros. I almost always try to treat it as a feather. But i'm crazy, don't listen to me.

if this guy was smart he would hire a very good lawyer. Apple won't take to kindly to product slander, especially with his own video evidence that shows that it is clearly staged.

Good job OP, sure looks some heavy editing at the very least and at the most straight up fake.

No question the 6 will bend (any metal will) but this video is most likely fraud.
