Probably not, and hmmm what carrier, phone and storage did you get? I wonder if the charge is a credit card thing.
iPhone XS max space grey 256gb. Store pick up by 9/21. Hope it’s true! Just ordered about 10 different cases online to test some out
the guy warning you is correct- Best Buy will screw you any way they can
Every year Best Buy handles these pre-orders like unorganized chaos and even charges more than Apple in some cases then says they won’t price match after multiple reps confirm they will on launch day. Not sure why anyone would pre-order from here. Pre-ordered a 5s from Best Buy back in the day. Never again.
Lol. At 4 AM I didn’t have time to research all the possible places to preorder to find out which ones were reliable. I tried Verizon (who came through last year) and Apple but both had ship dates in October.
Best Buy did have my Galaxy S7 Edge on release day. Not the same thing but still another point in their favor.
Thing is they want my money. So if they can get it out for the 21st they will. They don’t gain from delaying it. If they messed up on the date I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. And will be on this thread next year saying “Don’t order from Best Buy”

I remember a long time ago that I used BestBuy to buy the iPhone 7 Plus that was so hard to come by on preorder. It was a week after launch day and I saw that they had it available so I went online and ordered it. To my surprise it was at my doorstep the next couple days! Hopefully everything will be just fine.
Apparently demand for the XS is not so high so therefore Bestbuy won't have any trouble getting them in stock? We shall see.
Is there a way to preorder just an unlocked phone w/o getting it tied to a service carrier?

After the fiasco of last year's $100 surcharge Best Buy no longer allows iPhones to be purchased without activating on an account.
Just curious what does y’all order status say? Mines say in progress on the order and, Pre-order on the iPhone. Anyone else says this?

Nope. Same. I just called CS to have them fix my address and the rep mentioned that shipping is via two-day, so we should have tracking by Wednesday.
Doubt that happens . There are more than likely going to be a bunch of upset people that get theres on Monday due to natural disasters and UPS playing catch up.Hopefully tuesday tracking
Yes. Temporary and will fall off and then be charged for real when it ships, or thereabouts. That's how it's worked for me in the past, anyway.

I bet a trillion dollar company can influence UPS to get the phones delivered on time, with the exception of hurricane areas in the US. We'll see who's right in a few days.
At your store. I heard horror stories from people so they didn’t all go “extremely smooth”
You won't get it early that is a big No No from Apple doesn't matter the retailer they won't allow delivery before release day. It will be marked as "Don't deliver Before 9/21"
I had a fantastic and simple experience picking up my X last year on launch day, and expecting the same on Friday for my XS Max.
