How. Many. Full. Stops. Do. They. Want. To. Cram. Into. One. Advert? Have they ever heard of the comma? It's this really useful little squiggle that can be used to separate items in a list.

If you are going to criticize the grammar your comments should be directed at Apple. Have seen the front page of apple.com?

Like the apple store?

Lol, Joking....The Apple store, while certainly a "neat" place, has never been an all-around pleasant experience for me. The place is constantly packed to the brim with people

+1

While I like going to the Apple store, I don't think I will ever buy another computer there. I bought my MBP there because I needed to see the anti-glare screen beside the glossy screen.

But for a while, it seemed like I was destined to be extremely wealthy because the ivisibility cloak I designed was working to a T. I was completely invisible to anyone who was able to sell me something.

My next iMac will be bought online and shipped to me. Now if the would find a way to put you in a queue so you knew you would helped before the person that walked in the store 30 seconds ago, then maybe I would go back, but not until.

Lies!

First in line with 10 others. 20 minutes before open an employee here in San Diego stepped out and says

"Are any of you in line for the iPad? Because I thought I just wanted to let you know in case you are waiting...", we are ALL WAITING FOR THE iPad.

He continues, "We don't have any physically in stock, but we can take $100 dollars and put you on our usual waiting list.", we all start to walk away.

He goes on, "No Best Buy in San Diego has any in physical stock..., those ads were created before the Japanese earthquake and things kinda got all messed up."

REALLY? You think they could have canceled the ad a month ago.

BEST BUY ARE BASTARDS!!!!

Best Buy in Cambridge, MA didn't have any stock. The Apple store in the same mall did (as usual) but was mostly sold out when I got there 1/2 hour after opening. Still had a few 64 GB models, but that's it.

It's perfectly acceptable form for a short, succinct advert. It isn't a large block of text. I'm not sure what you're going on about.

No iPads in stock at Best Buy, Tustin, CA

Same story here - started to get in line at Best Buy in Tustin, CA and was told at 9:15 that despite the Ad, 'Apple didn't ship us any stock so we're taking backorders'

At least he was nice enough to come out and tell us.

Yep, get the kiddies hooked on iDevices early. Apple everything, paint their rooms white and let the mind control begin :)

My sentiments exactly. Get them while they're still in diapers, if possible. It worked to convert the Microsoft Wintard generation many years ago. Microsoft totally indoctrinated millions of unsuspecting consumers and turned them into Wintard drones. Now they're trapped by their own myopic vision of the future and refuse let go of the ancient Windows platform when a new order is upon them. That's why those friggin' brainwashed IT managers are nothing but Windows lapdogs and never want to let new technology into corporations. Thank heavens Apple is doing an end run around them by going above and below their narrow-minded Windows ways. I can't wait to see Microsoft's next earnings report reflecting Windows license sales tapering off. It's time for Microsux Windblows to get some post-PC era payback.

Got my iPad!

well I went to my closest Best Buy today but they did not have any for sale but they said the one by the mall had a few for sale. I went to the mall but stopped by the Apple Store in the mall first.

The Apple Store did have models for sale and there was practically no line and they handled out tickets for the models that they did have. I was able to get the 32gb white model that I wanted and I am using it to type this out.

Thanks MacRumors for the article cause otherwise I was planning to order one online and wait the 2 to 3 weeks that it would have taken otherwise.

people may think this is bad, but actually it's a perfect plan make it the only consumer tablet that anyone sees anywhere and kids make up a huge chunk of what parents purchase. They'll be saying iPad and Apple before Dadda and Mamma

Nice to see some vision in here. Apple: Cradle to Grave. :apple:

Why is this on the front page? It's like saying that WalMart is now selling a junk tablet. Except this article says that Toys R Us and Best Buy is now selling iPads. This isn't front page news.

Sure it is. Best Buy is one of the largest retailers for electronics in US. That Apple can get product into this channel should out to rest some of the supply constraint issues for Apple, and that IS front page worthy news about the short term future of Apple, especially if you own stock in them.

Seems to me...

The easiest way to get one right now is to watch the Walmart site and check out the in-store availability. I keep seeing them come and go here, but at least you can see if they have any before driving around.

BTW... I went to get mine and missed it by minutes. :( Showed on-line and was sold by the time I got there.

Oh... This Best Buy deal... by the looks of it, this BIG promotion by Best Buys was just a shame to get people in the store. I'm not a big fan of Best Buys.

Lame!

I was in my local Asheville BB last night and they had 0 physically in stock. I was first in the line of about 20 at BB this morning and they had 2 each of the 32 and 64gb ATT and Verizon ipads, but no wifi only. Since i have an Iphone 4 I couldn't care less about the 3g ones.

The reservation thing is just total BS if you ask me. Give us $100 bucks so we can let you know whenever they come in. No thanks guys I'll pass. Great way to piss a lot of people off though!

I ran into a few people who saw it on macrumors though so that was cool at least.....

Didn't Toys R Us sell the Commodore 64 ?

They also sold the Atari computer back in 1988

To sum up my day at best buy.

BEST BUY IS SCUM

They scam. They lie about iPads. Lied about exchange policy.
And manager is ignorant, arrogant, and just plain stubborn.

Never going back

I have an almost 9 month old boy. He was using the iPad to play games by 6 months of age. The iPad *IS* one of his favorite toys and with it's education and entertainment potential, is certainly a good investment. I need to go because he's about to attack my keyboard. I'll give him the iPad to play with :)

A cardboard box, some crumbled up wrapping paper, plastic bottle and a can are better and much cheaper.

My local Best Buy as of 11:15 this morning(The Woodlands, Texas) did not have any iPad 2's available. I failed to ask them if they were already sold out for the day or if they just didn't have them in stock. Regardless, no luck there.

LOL! I always knew that the ipad was just a toy. Now Toys R Us are selling them, HOW APPROPRIATE.

Or being a good adult and actually...parenting instead of letting an iPad do it for you.

Parents these days...

Are you ****ing serious? How the hell did you get this from letting his kid use the iPad occasionally?

Posters these days...

Toys R Us? Seriously? What a bizzarre place to buy a tablet PC. I guess we'll be seeing them with the Fisher Price laptops.

I guess you're too young to remember Children's Palace or the Sears Christmas catalog :) Used to be that's where you'd go to browse, play with, and buy your Atari 400 or Vic-20.

Back to the present: hold on to your hat, this is going to blow you away, but Toys R Us already sells...the iPod Touch!!!!

I don't know why you would expect them to not also sell its big brother, the hottest toy / gadget to be found? It's for kids, you know?
