The Stainless steel series 1 model is being sold at a 30 Percent discount on a Web site in the UK.

I guess Apple is trying to clear stock.

I can't agree. I am coming from a series 0 sport to a series 0 stainless steel. It is like night and day material wise. I will never go back to the sport. The stainless steel looks and feels much better than the aluminum. I got my stainless steel for $275 off ebay mint condition used. The feel is so drastically different to me not even an $80-$100 increase for the series 1 is worth going back to aluminum. Native apple apps run fast on the series 0 and 3rd party apps are just not useful yet in my opinion.

I will be using the 1 model behind method just to stay will stainless steel. The only way I can see my self paying for stainless at full price is when the watch becomes independent of the phone. Until then built in GPS is useless because I will always have my phone on me while running to make emergency phone calls.

Also, I do not have a need for waterproofing at the moment.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I think the aluminum Apple Watch feels and looks more like a fitness tracker while the stainless steel Apple Watch feels and looks more like a quality watch.

To me it's just that the value proposition isn't there for me for series 2. I don't swim with my watch, it's plenty waterproof for what I need it for. I don't usually go out without my phone even when excercising so I don't care about GPS. The processor would be great but OS3 solved any real problem I had with the processor., it wasn't that it wasn't processing fast enough it's that it should have been processing more in the background. Like it shouldn't wait for me to click on the weather app to decide that it should go pull and process weather information, it should have the data ready for when I need it. It was a problem that they fixed in software basically. So to me I'm completely fine with series 0 and the discount that these watches are at is just absurd I'd rather have a series 0 with a link band than a series 2 with a sports band and you could take that link band and use it on a future watch.

I bought a series 0 sport at target for $219 because they price matched Best Buy. I then ordered the SS Black Link from Best Buy for $369. I got the SS one today and I have to say I prefer the Sport. Its lighter and I like the matte finish. If anybody wants the SS Black Link 38mm PM me. Otherwise I'll be retiring it to Best Buy next week.

There's no such thing as a Stainless Steel Series 1.

The first generation was simply called the "Apple Watch" (with Sport and Edition models)

The second generation includes both the Series 1 (aluminum, no GPS, no waterproofing) and Series 2 (Aluminum, Stainless Steel or Ceramic, GPS, waterproofing, bigger battery). Both contain the upgraded CPU.

Some people are calling the first generation "Series 0" or "Apple Watch 1".

I love my Series 0 Space Black w/ Link Bracelet!

I'm sidegrading from a Series 0 SS w/ Leather (but I like to use my 3rd party Milanese more).
Gonna clean (polish) it up and gift it to my brother or sell it.

I got in on the 38mm SS space black link bracelet for $350, before that random $300 price bump! I picked in store pick up claiming it will be at my local Best Buy on Saturday.

I'm planning to sell the link bracelet and got a black Milanese loop band on amazon to replace it. Genuine link bands still fetch a great price so it makes this watch even cheaper.

I'll post back when I get it to see how dead the battery is and how updating to OS 3 goes.

Who makes your 3rd party Milanese?

I really liked the Moko ones for my SS one, but it looks like it's sold out on Amazon. I just picked up a different brand, the one that's a best seller on Amazon right now

that's the one I'm wearing today. really like this MoKo band. got it right before it went out of stock. got this one and their leather loop all for $14!!

the connection on my MoKo link bracelet knockoff doesn't feel secure. this one locks in really nice. Of the 4 third party bands i have, 3 of them MoKo. this one flows perfect IMO. the connection gaps are non-existent which is what you see in the 3rd party bands.

I would have bought this at 350 solely for the link band and sold the face with my old black sports band for like $150 and got my AW2 with the leather deployment or hell any of the nice leathers. I paid around 1200 for my AW2 black SS with link... Love it anyways!

EDIT: never mind I just noticed it was 38 not 42 but still great deal for those 38'rs

Wow, from the pics looks very much like Apple's Milanese, all except the top of the connector. The top looks brushed not shiny, like the sides of the connector. In Apple's the connector it's shiny all-around. By connector I mean the part that connect to the AW, the part with the lugs.

you're correct. i haven't seen an apple one to compare but really like this one.

I just ordered the SS/brown leather loop. Guess what BB is also doing for that combo? Throwing in a black sport band for free. Woo-hoo!

I'm not a Photographer at all, so the pictures aren't the best. I can't complain for the price honestly, $13 and it looks pretty darn good!

yeah i can't compare the MoKo to the apple brand but in terms of feel and look, it's great.
