Best Buy Delays Some iPhone 7 Plus Orders, Offers $100 Promo Code as Compensation

I was considering venturing out in the AM to check carrier stores and Best Buy, but if they are already giving out gift cards, I fear that they will not have any pluses anyway. I guess I should just wait for my October 'pre-order.'

Apple seems to have gotten it right and leveraged the relationship to fulfill their orders and screw the BBY customers....my guess the $$ offered amounts to way more than the unit price + $100 bby is giving...BBY is turning a profit on this in some way...just business
 
Best Buy's customer service is so incredibly bad it's amazing to me how they stay in business.

I pre-purchased online at launch an iPhone 5s. Charged my credit card and everything. Went to go pick it up, and they had sold it (and many others who had also pre-purchased) to walk-in customers. No stock left.

I haven't stepped foot in a Best Buy since then and I never will.

Which reminds me, I need to cancel the AppleCare+ plan I bought with my iPhone 7 at BBY...get this--I saw AppleCare+ for iPhone Monthly plan for $7.99. I figured instead of paying the whole entire $129 up front, they'd take it $7.99/mo. This is at 2AM so I'm not thinking straight anyways. Turns out, these crooks are going to charge me $7.99 for 24 months! That's $192 for AppleCare+ for iPhone!!! $192 vs $129? Hmmm...that must be how they are making up for handing out $100 rewards for delaying the orders!

Better not be f*%k the apple upgrade customers. Just cause they are broke they get special circumstances
 
Something up with the 7+?

Best Buy is giving no deliveries. Apple Australia had none for the first customers walking through the door. They normally always have a few of the most clamored for device.

We'll know tomorrow if nobody / few gets a 7+.

I cancelled my apple watch order on apple bc BBY was promising that they would ship on 16th, then i get email yesterday saying that my watch was delayed....and thru coincidence now the apple preorders are shipping...would give back my $50 credit to have watch on release, i share this bc...

Same thing is happening with the iPhone 7 and 7+

Hopefully it means that the first new shipment will be headed to BBY b4 other retailers.

I think apple looked at the # of people that were gonna be in that class action suit and decided this might be cheaper....surprised its only one retailer, or maybe that best buy was to have that much stock

Carriers didn't seem to have this issue, i ordered a iPhone 7 for mom through Verizon and hers arrives in morning..its only best buy at this point...the apple stores in US will end up having more stock than expected is my prediction...

Mine still says processing too, but someone at the local store actually called me an hour ago and said it's here. I can pre-schedule a time to pick up in store tomorrow or just come in after 8am. My first time using BB, usually buy direct from Apple and have to either stand in the rain for 4 hours or the UPS guy to show up at 9pm that night finally when ordering online. So I'd have to say I'm rather impressed with BB, and would be even still with the $100 and a wait.
 
Apple's launches are always a little chaotic but this one is debacle. Not sure if this is sign of mgmt not knowing what in the world is going on or just an anomaly. They want a backlog of people wanting phones but they definitely don't want this.

waiting in a line for days seems just dumb especially these days. Even more so for such small upgrade vs the 6 and 6s variants.

it was their first year with people eligible the IUP, and were overwhelmed by # of people taking advantage....great for Apple and their profits bad for the retailers that don't have clout of carriers...
 
I work at best buy and yesterday we only got the rose gold iPhone 7s and today we had quite a few of the iPhone 7s in black (no jet black) and a few plus's as well all of the phones that came in were for pre orders only i doubt that we will have any extras for walk in customers tomorrow
 
I would be surprised if anyone has any 7 Plus' tomorrow. Apple has already said they won't have any for walk-in customers, so I doubt the carriers or Best Buy will have any.

Best Buy should allow those people to use the $100 gift card towards their iPhone purchase (not on a "future purchase").
