Anyone with a 7+ preorder at BestBuy that did not receive that email? My store opens in 1 hour and my order still shows as processing, but no email about it being delayed.

Folks it is a 100 gift card on next purchase - not on the phone. So you have to buy something else at Best Buy to use the card. Having worked there - they have such terrible systems that I'm not surprise that they don't know what is coming in and what isn't. BB would be the last place I'd buy something like that.

I received an emil and a text message.

I just wished that came sooner in the week as I noticied no activity vs my other order. Made me waste my timing verifying CC and calling 1-888 number and local store to get some answers. Finally around 7pm after all my time is wasted and preaching to some BB employees that pre-orders "guarantee" delivery on the launch day vs their clueless or lack of training I got the email. I call that store again saying they will not get any 7+ deliveries until oct

no but they lead to bad PR and that can hurt the bottom line, especially when its returning customers, and yes if there were 10,000 plantiffs at $600 plus per thats $6,000,000 extrapolate that and yes it can hurt the bottom line..
And the chances of this money chasing attorney or any of his so-called clients ever seeing a penny is about the same as you becoming the next queen of England.

absolutely correct. its not a coincidence that their watch orders were delayed as well, BBY sold some/all of their stock back to apple, so apple could fulfill its overwhelming demand, and still have some for sale in stores....bc some one greeting the fedex guy isn't as good a PR image as a happy customer coming out of a store with a new iPhone...

Lesson learned won't be preordering from BBY again

Hahaha is this post a joke? There is no way any company is selling their stock back to Apple.

Of course I wanted the regular 7 but ordered the 7 plus, no word on a cancellation yet... I don't know how they are going to go about switching me from the plus to the regular 7 :-/

I preordered my iPhone 7 Plus flat black 256 on the pre-order date last friday and I called into Best Buy to confirm if it would be better to have the phone delivered or store pickup and I ended up choosing the store pickup option because they said that it would be guaranteed that way.

Unfortunately my order status has not changed from processing, and after calling into the Best Buy store where I am supposed to pick up my phone I am told that they have no received any Iphone 7 Plus devices for Pre-Orders. They have received inventory for walk in customers, but the people like myself that Pre-Ordered the phone on the 9th are not going to get the phone today. The Best Buy person did not provide any additional information, and they said to try back in a few days.

This is the worst pre-ordering experience I have ever had. I was not emailed and offered a $100 gift card, I was expecting to have the phone today... I should have chose delivery if I knew this was going to happen, and then I would have an additional $100 to spend at best buy. What is this crap???

....well I don't think it's so clear cut....some motivation to play nice so one is not left out of first wave for other product releases.

I had iPhone 7+ black 256GB pre-ordered for pickup at local Best Buy. The status stayed on "processing" until just now, when I received the same notification as in the initial post. Also had an Apple Watch pre-ordered for shipment, and got the $50 promotion on that a couple days ago. So I am getting $150 just for waiting 2-3 weeks.

I wish we knew the real story why BB doesn't have any 7 Plus iPhones for those of us that pre-ordered. All very secret and "Apple-esque".

It sort of seems most people got screwed no matter where they bought them...shortages abound. Worst launch ever.

Is Best Buy running out of cash? Is that why they are slow in delivering the goods?

Interesting...

This could really cost them in the future, and not just for the gift cards...

YIKES...

Say what you like. But Apple does have a record of shipping products on time, with a reasonable supply available when they want to. But when they launch a new iPhone there are always absurd shortages. When they cant supply Best Buy who is one of the last brick and mortar big box chains still standing (remember CompUSA and Goodguys?) something is fishy. Apple is either premature in launching and is nowhere near ramping up. Or they are being deliberately stingy with supply.

Despite the delay, whether it was an ordering fault by someone at Best Buy or a supply issue created by Apple, it is nice to see Best Buy compensate customers like this.

Possibly unrelated, but there is a notice at Dell Support that you can't get support from Dell for anything bought at Worst Try. Interesting...

Makes me wonder what's going on. I keep reading rumours that Best Buy is 'on the ropes', and 'on their knees'. :eek:o_O

Hey folks. Please note that the $100 coupon expires in less than one month. You've gotta use it, or you're going to lose it. I've already spent mine on a PS4 Pro Preorder.

I'm still considering cancelling my BB preorder though. They say 10/7 and Apple says "2-3 weeks" and Apple usually underpromises and overdelivers on those dates. Plus why should I trust BB at this point?

So they've recognized that just the act of shipping jet black causes scratches.
Glad they were out of stock of the jet black models! No I won't have to worry about scratching during shipping. Lol

Note to self, never preorder anything at Best Buy.
Amen

Better not be f*%k the apple upgrade customers. Just cause they are broke they get special circumstances
Broke??? We are the ones with service contracts that pay top dollar to our cell company unlike the little guy buying a iPhone every 5 years. See they make more money off the upgrades in the long run. So ya, I'm not complaing on the little wait, bb just bought me a new case and screen protector for my new phone when it comes. Thanks bestbuy!

This has got to be the worst Pre Order experience i've ever had with any company. I compared different delivery dates for the order of my (matte) Black iPhone 7 Plus on AT&T and Best Buy was the only one that showed delivery on 9/16 (everywhere else showed about 1-2 weeks after that) which is what led me to choose Best Buy for my order. I called the day before release because it still hadn't shown up as "Shipped", only pre-ordered. The customer service rep assured me they were sitting in a warehouse waiting to go out at midnight as Best Buy had planned a logistics launch with UPS (which i found hard to believe) but assured me i would still get my phone on launch day 9/16.

2 hours later i get this:

Dear Fernando,
Thank you for pre-ordering the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus with Best Buy.
Unfortunately, there's been a delay in getting you your device. We apologize for the inconvenience, as we know you are excited about your new phone.

Your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus is expected to arrive by Friday, Oct. 7, perhaps sooner depending on your location. You can view your order status on BestBuy.com/OrderStatus.

This week i called customer support and i found out my actual delivery date is 11/2. My delivery be pushed back almost another month without me even being notified by Best Buy. They haven't even apologized or offered any type of compensation after this further delay! Only "that's the only date we see on this order".

Now that i know my delivery is in November, i should have ordered directly from Apple or even AT&T. I could have had it this week!

-End of rant that many others have already posted-
