I went into BB Glendale CA to see about cases (they had a selection, no bumpers of course). They told me they had to turn people away because they didn't have enough phones to fill their pre orders! No raincheck, just try later. I felt sorry for those people.

I was there around 2:30ish PM.

Without a call, yesterday I decided to head over to best buy and see if i could get more info. I was told that I was order number 11 for the black 32 GB model and that only 2 such devices were shipped to the store (Alexandria VA). Looks like I won't be getting the phone for a while. Should have gone with apple. Oh well....

I must say BB had a pretty darn good/fast activation process. I was in and out in 10 mins..30 mins before I was scheduled too. My BB was on the ball with this one, very impressed.

Did Best Buy take $50 from you guys for the preorder? A mobile rep there only filled out a form with my name, phone number, etc. I have no idea what number I am, I just hope my info was taken down correctly and isn't overlooked. Apparantely there was something involving $50 and a gift card, too.

I got my phone from Best Buy today. Easy and painless. I feel sorry for people who had to wait 5 hours for a reserved phone. On the 15th, I tried to pre order online. After about an hour of trying and not getting through, I went to my local Best Buy at about 10:45am (45 min after they had opened) and pre ordered my phone. They had me put down a $50 deposit which was returned to me in the form of a gift card. I received a call on the 23rd to set up a time for me to come down to pick up the phone. They told me they were opening early and I could come down at 8am. Got there at 7:55am and was out and headed home by 8:20am. Best Buy was definitely the way to go!

Got there at 9:30p. Quiet atmosphere. No lines outside the door. Prepping for opening. Had to enter through the exit door that you could manually slide. Guy asked me if I had an appt. I told him "yes", and went right in. Sat down, answered some questions, and signed the contracts. The guy who helped me accidentally got a 16GB as I noticed the back of the box. Told him I pre-ordered a 32GB, and changed it with no hassle. The box was still shrinked-wrapped, but the BB employee does open it up first to activate. Checked for any yellowish flaws. None. Thanked my lucky stars I don't have a dud (so far). Made some nice convo with them and was on my way. Definitely contrasting to to the time leading up to it. I'm also glad I pre-ordered at BB because I am not the primary on the AT&T account and don't live with my mom to take her all the way to Cerritos. I did need to call her briefly for her last 4 digits of her SS. Easiest 30 minutes of my life.

Then went directly to the grand opening of the Apple Store in Cerritos mall about 3 miles away. Saw a line that went outside the store. Waited only 5 minutes to get in because all I needed was a bumper. Got it and a free shirt. Hung around in the store for 30 min and then installed iPhone into bumper. Very easy install just like a rubber band. Best morning of the year for me.

Jas79, I did ask the guy how many they had in stock and he told me about 100 or so, but didn't tell me how many 16GBs and 32GBs there were. He did say that their BB wouldn't be able to fulfill all pre-orders. Good luck. When you finally have it in your hands, it truly is worth the wait. It's like a work of art in the palm of your hands. Feels solid and expensive. The previous iPhones feel like toys now. The metal band around the glass does feel a bit jagged and could chip away, but that's what the bumper is for. My phone is flawless and it looks great with the bumper. Thank you, Apple.

Thanks Savor, i am #12 now for next shipment. They are not sure about when they are getting next shipment. i may head to apple store today to see how they are doing. According to apple store they will get iphones everyday except sunday. Enjoy your new phone and keep smiling.

Who has actually received a call from Best Buy that didn't get the launch day stock? Most Best Buy stores probably won't get new stock for another week or two. I'm more confident in the Apple Store right now.

talked to my local best buy today said they weren't getting shipments for two weeks and its all first come first serve basis from here on out.

I called my local Best Buy, store 156 is Dublin, OH. I was told I'm #3 & 4 for the 32GB iP4. The guy said they were expecting a shipment yesterday, but it didn't come and wasn't sure when the next one will be. He said they still plan on following the pre-order list.

Hello all! I thought I would share what I recently heard from the Best Buy at landmark mall, Alexandria, Virginia (Store 1392). According to an employee that answered the phone on Tuesday, the store is only receiving shipments on Friday from now on. I'm not sure if this is true or whether he just said that to stop the phone from ringing. There are a whole bunch of dissatisfied customers on the best buy forum. See the link below:
