I will never shop at Best Buy again.
Show up for my 7 AM appt--I'm the first one. Let me right in, they pop out my iPhone wrapped in my pre-order sheet. Get 90% through the process. Rings me up: $214...wait, it should be $300ish?
Me: that's a 32 GB right?
BB: [inspects box FOREVER trying to figure it out] no, it's 16.
Me: I ordered 32.
BB: ...um...we don't have any 32.
Me: Why the hell did you call me saying my phone was in?
BB: We didn't look at what sizes we got in.
Goes downhill from there.
I end up asking for a refund. Head for store.apple.com to place an order and be done with it...
"NOT ELIGIBLE FOR UPGRADE"
Best Buy had not reversed upgrade process. Called them back. Said they were doing it but will take 24-72 hours.
So not only does BB not have my phone, but they also effectively keep me from ordering/buying one from somewhere else for the next few days.
So pissed right now.

Yes i bought mine yesterday. I figured if i couldn't have my white iphone right now i could satisfy the anxiety by purchasing a case. I got pink but they had grey, blue, rocketfish and it looked good on my 3gs and you could see the logo and the color so the best buy in wilmington nc had some yesterday so i'm assuming they still do
Well I'm in Central time but I had an appointment at 8:00am and it went SMOOTH.
I walked up to the doors and it was like some secret, covert operation where they asked our names, made sure they were on a clip board, and then we got to enter.
They had opened ALL the phones (my BB got ~80... store #46) and wrote peoples names on the side of the box (bad for resale
). They basically just asked for my number, billing address and social, then handed my phone to some activation guy. He handed it back, I swiped my CC and BB reward zone card, and we walked out. It took about 5-10 min total. There was another BBmobile rep working w/ someone else at the same time. So it looks like they were doing 2 appointments at a time.They also had a black bumper of some kind at my store and other accessories.
Overall I was very impressed w/ their preparedness.
On the down side, they opened everyone's phone w/out the owner being there. My husband noticed a chip at the bottom of his. He tried to call but they are "closed" right now... so it will be interesting to see if they will order him a replacement.
Also, there was no crowd because there was a sign on the doors saying they did not have enough phones after fulfilling pre-orders. The sign also said they were taking more pre-orders btw 10am-11am today.
I was the first person there. When they discovered they had no 32 GB phones, they started panicking and calling other customers who ordered it to cancel their appt.

I just walked in and was out with 20 min or so. yeah apple stores are nuts. My friend went to a different one and he said there about 1000 people. just like the one at my mall!
Thanks for sharing the experiences. I'm getting nervous because I may end up getting a dud. I personally can tolerate BB if they gave me a 16GB just to save some money, but my obvious preference is 32GB. My biggest concerns is call issue and yellow spots. Sucks to hear they opened the box already. I can live with that, but I better not see scratches on the side. And I definitely will check out for any yellow spots before purchase or I'll demand to get another one on the spot. I've been awake since 5am, and it feels like forever. I just want the phone ASAP and then get my black bumper at the Apple Store. But since the Apple Store just barely opened 10 min ago out here, it is total chaos right now. Accessory purchases-only is about 10am and I'm just waiting for the lines to die out before many of them head out to work.
Will go out for some breakfast now. Hope the ones who got it at BB today got perfect phones. I got another 2 hrs and 15 min to go...

I showed up a few minutes late for my 8:30 appt. and was out with two phones & a case by 9:00. They had started working with the 9:00 appointment shortly after they got my transactions rolling.
I have to say, they did everything right. I have had absolutely HORRIBLE experiences with this Best Buy store in the past, but everything from clearly numbering the pre-order forms to having adequate and knowledgeable staff on hand this morning was handled really well.

The experience leading up to this morning was horrible.
BUT....
830am was my appointment and it took a whole 5 minutes.
Also I would like to point out that I have no bad color spots AND no signal lose holding the bottom left of the phone or any part of the phone... In fact when I did some testing I gained a bar? Overall Im very pleased. Thanks Apple.

Received a call from Best Buy just a little while ago. They told me that they have not yet received their entire shipment of phones and will know more by the end of the day. The person I spoke with told me that they would give me a call later today to schedule an appointment for pickup. Fingers crossed.

good luck man. Can you ask cerritos BB how many they got? i am still waiting for my call for 16 GB black. I called them yesterday and they told me all pre-orders shld be ok. i do not trust these guys. let me know please if you can?

I know how you feel. Nice to hear stories that not all Best Buys are alike. I like to read the positive feedback for reassurance. But I understand how you feel about this particular Cerritos BB because I don't trust this one either. Hopefully, my experiences with them in 75 minutes will be better and smooth.
If you pre-ordered, what number are you? I tried asking both the lady who set up the appt and a guy at the store about inventory, and they couldn't answer it for me. I'll ask again today and let you know. Good luck too.
Picked up my iPhone at 8am this morning!! All went smooth. No yellow or any problems. 32GB black. I asked the guy how many they got in and he said (2) 32GB and (13) 16GB all black. Luckily I was the first to pre-order!
