Received my phone Sunday night. No call or email, I just happened to look up my order status for the heck of it and I called ahead to make sure the "ready for pickup" was correct and they were only going to be open for another 45 minutes. I'm not trying to be a witch about it, but did they just get the phone in Sunday, or had it been sitting there with no notice to me? Like I posted previously, the employee who was snippy with me did say, they only hold them for 3 days before they sell them to another customer.

Dont ever do another "preorder" with Bby again.

Got to agree. BB is about the only retailer left in what they carry. Sad part is they will be gone in time. They need to make radical changes to stay alive. Not just the iPhone preorder deal either. They already closing stores in the Chicago area

Just jumping on the bandwagon, here. The problem with Best Buy is its communication systems, not its business strategy. I pre-ordered a 6s Plus and have heard nothing. Nothing. No, "we know you're waiting;" no, "thanks for being patient." Nothing. I was thinking this morning, wouldn't it be nice if Best Buy could notify me when they got the new iMacs in stock at my local store. In the words of Aerosmith, dream on. Nice people, generally, but they have to have the worst communication awareness and protocol of any major retailer. Just abysmal--their CTO should be sh*tcanned.

I have the same issue. I stopped by Best Buy on Friday and spent about 45 minutes talking to the representative in the mobile department. He was unable to even find my online preorder (set for pickup in his store), so we ended up calling the assistant manager. The assistant manager was able to find my order, but he pretty much leveled with me: my order was going to be automatically cancelled on 10/23 if one didn't come in. He also could not see that any iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB Verizon models were in transit to his store nor to the warehouse. So he pretty much told me that I shouldn't hold out hope that I would receive my iPhone from Best Buy. The only reason I even ordered from Best Buy was because I used the mover's coupon for 10% off (saving about $40 off the retail cost...)

The more I read these different pre-order threads, the less I see a reason to ever pre-order an iPhone form anybody but Apple.

Best Buy stores in my area refusing to sell an un activated device.

It's so obviously u guys want the 6S Plus.

Listen to me again. Time is of the essence if u guys are trying to do the Best Buy Verizon unlimited data loophole to renew your contract.

I just paid for regular 6S cause it was available to ship to home.

But the 6S plus at this time will have to be picked up in store which is a no no with the Best Buy unlimited data loophole. U cannot let Best Buy activate that SIM card.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

However, I wasn't aware that unactivated isn't the same as unlocked when it comes to an AT&T phone. Mine's going back tomorrow, and that's only because they were closed before I could get back today.

What am I missing? How can they get away with selling unactivated phones for a $50 premium if they aren't even unlocked?

you can easily get it unlocked from AT&T or if you get the Verizon model it will be unlocked and also have them pricematch Apple and you will get $50 back

They won't unlock it unless you have "have had an account in good standing for a period of time". I'm not sure what the period of time is, but I have no AT&T account at this time so they won't help me. They want me to start a new account, activate the phone, then at some future point they will unlock it.

I am switching from Verizon to AT&T but can't port my number for a few weeks b/c a family member is traveling. I need to use it with my Verizon SIM for a few weeks, then it'll move to AT&T. Unfortunately I can't use it with a Verizon SIM.

Shoot them an email if you paid full price they will ask for a receipt and you will have it unlocked before the end of the day
