received my case-friendly matte recently and i've since spent about 4 hrs applying it. currently, i'm trying to get the ends to stick to the phone. quite challenging at the moment. gotta say it has a nice texture and it makes the matte black phone look even darker. will post up pics when i have a reliable camera to capture images.

I'll wait to see if they will go away tomorrow morning :( so the reason I am having a lot of bubbles are because I used too little solution? Isn't that suppose to be too much excessive solution that's causing the bubbles?

If they remain ill have to rip them off tmr and try again with new ones.. I am losing a lot of confidence though :(
You don't want to spray too much where it's dripping fluid but you don't want to spray too little to the point you can't reposition the skin and it's still really sticky. Regardless, if you did happen to use too much fluid you should have been able to squeegee them all out within a matter of seconds. If you used too little solution, the squeegee wouldn't have done anything because the fluid can't move under the skin.

Be patient and work the sides and corners, you can use a hairdryer to help you with the process, good luck!

I did a touch up on the stubborn edges and corners and even used some dryer/blower device that my wife uses for her calligraphy and it helped. still got stubborn edges along the power and volume buttons. i'm just not comfortable with the idea of spraying the soap solution over and over again in fear of damaging my phone. might touch up on it again later. BSE was nice enough to send the same skin at no extra charge. i like the skin texture and how darker it makes the matte black looks but if not the edges aren't stubborn.

Any skin won't work well with a case right? I happen to misplace my BSE skin and I opted to get a clear case. The clear case seems to dull down the glossy black. I really want a skin to protect from any little scratches but I also can't fully trust myself to run with no case on my phone as well. Anyone had any luck with skins working with cases?

not true. using a case with BSE matte simple skin. simple is meant to be case friendly. i've tried healing shield skin from korea and they work well with a case too. kept my 6 plus then in pristine condition. u dont have to worry unless u are using those really tight cases like PSAJ.

Wow I don't know how I forgot about their Simple line of skins. Thanks for reminding me lol

I just got around to putting the BSE glossy simple skin on my JB iPhone 7+. I would not say 'you can't even tell it's there' or 'no one will know you have a skin on.' It feels (and looks) like a cheap piece of plastic is on the back of your phone. Immediately took it off after it was finished drying. Will stick with going naked (or using the Nanostate Onyx if it proves useful).

I just removed my Alien Skin (by Nanostate).
After more then 36 hours of applying the skin I still see a few air bubbles and just like you said, those wraps/skins look like cheap pieces of plastic attached to the shiny/glossy jetblack finish of the iPhone. It totally ruins the look of this particular (jetblack) finish.

Going naked again! :)

Have to say, I'm managed to install my glossy BSE skin to my matte black iP7+ and I'm delighted with the results. Gives the black back a nice gloss without the worry of scratching/chipping.

My advice would be to take your time on install and don't rush it. Also, if you see bubbles in the first 24-48 hours don't be put off. I had small bubbles under mine which have now mostly disappeared. With the edges and corners, just keep doing what they do in the install video until they full stick and stay down. Also it might be worth installing at night before bed, as this will give the skin time to dry and fully adhere overnight. For $8 you can't go wrong.

In Hong Kong we no longer get skins with liquid solutions. We only get the dry install ones. Either way I cant install them by myself. They are good though.

I have seen a matte skin for the matte black and it looks great.

Glossy one looks great on Jet Blacks

I would much rather prefer a dry install skin for the rear. Anyone have a link to where someone sells that type? Wet install is such a hassle.

Exactly the same experience. Installed the BSE matte skin on my 7+ black and left it to settle overnight.

Woke up this morning and wasn't happy with the result at all. Maybe it's my amateur way of installing it but all the edges are easily visible. I have two dogs at home and somehow a few strands of dog hair got stuck on the back.

Overall, I agree with you it's feels and looks like a cheap piece of plastic. Reminds me of uni textbooks I used to wrap.

Took it off straight away and back into the saddle brown leather case it goes. Was looking forward to using it naked :(

Did you just email them and said you weren't happy with the installation? Did you send them any pics?

i told them that i tried for 8 hrs but the edges still won't stick and they replied by sending me a complimentary replacement which was a nice touch. i liked how it feels though the skin does take the glossy-ness of the apple logo away (kinda miss it) but i would rather not have it scratched (using spigen rugged armor which has a cutout at the apple logo).

i did try the edges a a couple of days after the first try and the edges stick better but the ones along the power and volume buttons are as stubborn as ever. small parts are still refusing to stick. got to say that when they do, it's almost invisible to the eye. i'll try to take some high quality shot and post here later.

Any good pics of jet black with glossy back? Someone pm or quote me. P
I spent an hour trying to put one on this morning. I finished and saw a spec of dust and I tried to get it out. It's in the garbage now. It was so small I should have just left it.

Considering the iPhone 7 is water resistant, just hoover your bathroom, get rid of that dust, then run a hot shower for a good 10-15 mins with no windows/circulation to get it nice and steamy, slather the phone in a slightly soapy water mix (you don't really want bubbles as such, just a tiny drop in a sink worth), dip the skin in to the soapy water and get it as close as you can to lining up correctly, squeegee out the liquid, start to get the corners sort of sticking then stretch and wrap the phone in clingfilm with the corners in place to keep applying pressure over night.

If the skin is slipping around too much when trying to line it up then squeegee a little of the liquid out, if you feel it's got too dry then just peel it off before it properly sticks and start again.

Peel the clingfilm off the next day, should be nice and tight, and hopefully thanks to the vacuuming and steam there should be little to no dust under the skin. Don't panic if it still looks a little misty or bubbley the next day, they'll slowly go away over the next few days as the phone heat cycles etc. If it doesn't start to show signs of going away after 48 hours then either you used a little too much soap or it had some other ingredients in.

Used to do this back on the 3G/3GS and 4, obviously I was a little more careful to not get any liquid them, which is why the iPhone 7 should be pretty easy! Although I stopped using them before the fancy corners came in, I used to install what they now call 'Simple' I think?

This is a picture of my iPhone 7 Plus Jet Black with a clear 3M film. The air bubbles around the camera have gone now. :)

The shop had a matte film too but that would have made my phone the matte Black version.

Wish we had 3M installer in the states.

What's a 3 m installer. That looks so great

Bad news to report on my end. I installed my BSE Matte skin (simple). It did go down ok and all bubbles were gone after 2 days. Unfortunately it peeled right off my matte black phone. I've used BSE all the time on iPads and once stuck it can be a bitch to get off. Not the case with the iPhone 7. Not sure if it is the skin or the finish of the phone. Disappointed to back to Apple silicone case for me.

That's very surprising to hear, I always heard their products are very difficult to get off not the other way around, lol.
