ibook

I have an ibook G3 but want to know what's the best torrent out there for me to find software for it. I tried couple of places but most of them are only for Macs or eMacs but nothing useful for my little ibook G3. Can somebody tell me where to find a good place where I can download torrents for my ibook?

If it works on an iMac then if should work on your iBook, unless the OS you are using is on supported.

If by "finding software" you mean downloading it, then it's probably illegal.

thanks for the comments I really appreciate it. What I meant before was that I had OS X Panther downloaded to my ibook but I had to reset it cause I gave the computer away but when I got it back nothing was working and It was acting aweful slow and the software that I bought for it I no longer have it. I sold it cause I didn't need it anymore but now I'm stuck with OS X 10.2.8 and I loved it when it was upgraded but don't want to spend the money again for the software that it had before. I'm gonna try to see if I can use Transmission since everybody is talking about it

Encryption

About the only issue I find with any of these clients OTHER than Azureus is the lack of encryption.

Encryption is a must have have with companies like Comcast now blocking torrent traffic. So the only program that gets my vote is Azureus/Bittyrant.

xtorrent doesn´t work anymore on my mac

until some weeks it was perfect, and suddenly it doesn´t work: everytime I try to open it it start in a never ending process and I have to go to force quit to get out of there
any body can help?????
thanks so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Another satisfied user....

I too use Transmission, though I have noticed that it slows down the connection for my mini and my g/f's ACeR laggtop. haven't seen any slowing down on my other babe [g4], though that one needs major RAMing :(!

I'm wondering though is Mac-Torrents the only place or is there other places to get good s***?

Recently I got a movie that has no sound in any of my usual players, my last resort was MIRO, and boy was I  to find out that not only did it played the movie but with sound too!!!

As always thanks!!

NEVER use limewire.

I heard that uTorrent is going to be released for Mac very shortly.
I use it on my PC and it's AMAZING.

I am using Transmission at the moment. Very nice little client...however. Dopes anyone know if you can stop the pop up messages when downloads finish etc? I have to keep torrenting very discrete on my Mac (ahem ;)) and I don't want that popping up when someone is looking at my screen.

trruuuuuuuuuhhhhhANNSmission! all the way

way better than the slow Vuze(aka azerus) the GUI is simple and clean on transmission no need all that fancy flashy stuff for a torrent client,

Go transmission! or utorrent LOL i want that to come out for macs already

So I take it you are downloading things that kids should not be watching.....naughty naughty!! Have you looked into he preference? Usually since I'm the only one who knows how to run a mac at home I can easily hide it or the best is to turn off the screen. and the tiny lil light on my mini can be covered it looks as if it was off  yeah I know "clever"...shucks!

I used to use Azureus, which is very feature-rich and powerful, but I have now switched to Transmission - lightweight, simple and minimal yet still powerful as well as slick - I highly recommend it. For 95% of the users out there I would argue that Azureus is probably overkill and hence not required, even though it is an excellent app in its own right.

kind of on the topic here. atm i am using just regular old bittorrent and it is no good. i have heaps of half finished torrents and i want to transfer over to azureus but have no idea if it is possible to transfer my current torrents over. help?

EDIT: Just downloaded vuze (new azureus) and it is fantastic
all these torrents that i had that weren't even working in bittorrent are now getting my full download speed. i can't believe i used bittorrent for so long. i feel like an idiot. the UI is alot better as well. Give it a go
