Which is normal. We just have to sit tight and hope and pray that things work out for us and we get our nice shiny new X's on Friday!
Best Buy is going to honor my pre-order! Hell yeah! Shipping is Thurs night. I told them I am #17 and the guy told me my chances are good for a launch day iPhone X. I swear, I didn't expect anything from this.

Ordered the same case from Apple and received it today. #ready
I asked the BB employee if I could put $50 down to keep my pre-order # and no need. I actually kinda know the guy already. He helped me with a LG G5 purchase for me to sell and he liked my theme on the one I was using. How they deal with us is the pre-order # we were given. I don't know of any expiration for it.
He told me to just wait on Fri for an email or even text because they have my number once they get their stock. So I expect to go there maybe Fri afternoon around 3pm-4pm. And then maybe pay like $80-$100 for the phones unsubsidized taxes and whatever else carrier fees. If no silver that day because they only had 15 of them and all were taken, I'm patience enough to wait on the next shipment.
Awesome outcome for me! I lost hope until I read that news. It reminds me of the time I went to a bar with three of my friends. This was New Years' Day night, 2003. And I was only guy who scored that night with the hottest chick there eyeing me all night while I didn't expecting anything at all for that to happen. LG = Lucky Guy. Keep expectations realistic.

Seven years ago when iPhone 4 was ready to come out, I was a launch day rat racer too. I was like, "Nooo! Need it at launch or I will cry! It matters so much to me if it's launch! Tragedy if I don't get it!"
Thank goodness I'm not that person anymore. People change. But I figure alot of youngsters here in this forum. Still young and wanna have fun. It's when you least expect things, good things happen. Stay patient, folks. Just wait until Friday for an email or just go there that day. They won't have them in stock until Thursday eve/Friday early, early morning.

Wait, what? I preordered at midnight for the full price unlocked phone with the $100 surcharge. I heard that they stopped selling that price model after backlash, but I didn't hear anything about them cancelling the pre-existing orders that already agreed to the $100 charge.
I haven't been contacted about anything and I'm assuming if they had to change my payment option to be carrier specific, that would require info from me. As of now, Best Buy has no details about my carrier.

I asked on the Best Buy support forum. There is some poster answering everyone's questions. Not sure if he's directly associated with Best Buy but seems to have a lot of detailed info.
According to him:
"Regarding the decision by Best Buy to not sell the full price version, it does not affect orders already placed.
You will receive an unactivated model A1865 CDMA+GSM iPhone X, as that is all that Best Buy sells, even if purchased with monthly payments, at least for the launch."
They always accepted carrier agreements, it’s always been their preferred way so you coulda done that out of the get. You changing your order from paying in full to carrier agreement def moved you to the bottom of the list dude. When you talked to B.B. and TOLD them your #17 in line they laughed and said,”well then yeah, your very likely to get it on Friday” lol. For everyone else, your orders are not being cancelled cause you paid in full. You cannot get price matched to get your 100 back.

Ive read pages 4-10. On page 5 there was an explicit mention about someone having their order cancelled because of the full price payment method. I did not see any messages disputing this that confirm that existing full price orders should not be affected.
I hate the way BBY handles preorders because there’s no progress. It’s just everything at once the night before, or morning of for store pickup.
I couldn't agree with you more. With several online chat sessions the verdict is that my pre-order will ship and be available Friday the 3rd. They say there is a different system they check for pre-order status. And it seems it should be here Friday the 3rd.
