Are you going to support the Magic Mouse and will I be able to play the game using the Magic Mouse's multitouch-features (the "mouse-wheel", etc.)?

As long as you setup your mouse correctly in the system preferences it should just work like any other mouse.

However I don't know how well it does fast pickup of right then left clicks (used when firing and swapping weapons) so a gaming mouse might be easier to use, but yeah should work out the box.

Could be a problem with the Mighty Mouse as well, but I've got a few other non-Apple-mice sitting around somewhere. Still waiting for my delivery, though, but I'm hoping that it should arrive tomorrow ....

I wonder from where the shipments are coming from and what side of the planet? Still waiting in South Carolina. I hope it plays nicer with 10.6 then Warbirds 2009 has so far.

Well, I live in Mainland Europe (Austria to be exact) and I'm pretty sure that mine was dispatched from Feral in the UK. Usually takes up to 3 - 5 working days and they dispatched it last Friday. Taking into consideration that Monday was a bank holiday over here I'll add a day or two to my calculation which means I should get it either tomorrow or on Friday ....

Anyone get a copy Yet? Still wondering what method of shipping is being used.

I was *really* hoping for it to arrive today because I was hoping I could play it over the weekend, but, alas, it didn't. If it won't be here on Monday I'll start worrying a little bit ...

Bioshock arrived this morning! Feral had responded today to my query about an arrival date, saying that they're going thru a "part-time postal strike in the UK", which delayed the actual shipping date until 10-26. I live in No. Calif. & wasn't expecting delivery until Monday-Tuesday. Surprise!

I would just like to say again sorry about any delays the Royal Mail (the UK equivalent or the US Postal Service) has been having 2 and 3 day strikes every week for the last couple of weeks which has caused some packets to get delayed when leaving the country.

Currently they have no strike plans for this week (or next) so everyone should be playing soon.

Thanks for the info! I'm sitting here in Austria and unfortunately haven't received my copy yet, but I'm counting on tomorrow. I've heard about the strike, but since I got my shipping notice on Friday, Oct 23 I assumed it was already well on its way. Ah well ...

I was but some postal items get stuck in a queue :( Please send an email to the store email if you have no game by Friday. The demo is coming in the next few days so that should help you get by till it arrives. :)

ALLLLLLLLLLRIGHTY FOLKS! I realize that everyone's down on Bioshock for Mac right now because of the extremely hefty price tag. I saw farther bag in the thread that someone mentioned if this thing sold well then maybe they'd release more games for the Mac. This I cannot agree with more. Which is why I purchased it.

I'm running the 1st gen. Unibody 15 inch MacBook Pro, 4gb ram, 5400rpm 500gb hard drive, 2.4 ghz, etc. etc. etc. It runs fine. HOWEVER, I wouldn't try it on anything older. I've had two spots of glitchiness and both were during some intense battle sequences.

Not only did that come today but so did my Magic Mouse! Woot wooooot.

Glad you liked the game if you PM me your spec I can have a look at what settings you are running etc as you should be smooth 99% of the time (unless you are running on 10.6.0 or .1 in which case you need to wait for 10.6.2 for full speed).

The game's settings are set depending on your machine and they scale onto all Intel machines. The game runs fine (with the very odd minor frame rate drop in heavy combat areas) on the ORIGINAL Intel iMac! I know because it is a test machine that we used a lot during development and we must have played the game 20 times over at least on that Mac!

So to summarise you should be fine on ANY Intel Mac which has enough RAM installed (not including GMA machines which are unsupported). The game will automatically select the best settings on first run if you override these resolutions and settings then you might get performance issues so if you have problems with frame rate etc dropping back to the recommended settings will help.

oh nice! Damn, I really wanna try the demo... It's worth the price to me that it's a native mac game and I don't have to use Windows.

Just got the game. Really happy. Great play so far. Water looks beautiful. One question - why do we have to wait for 10.6.2 for full speed? Just curious.

NV have a driver issue they introduced into 10.6.0 and .1 which is fixed in 10.6.2. ATI Cards run fine but if you have an Nvidia card 10.6.2 has updated drivers that significantly speed up the game and remove stutter.

EDIT: The Demo is now live and so is the patch enjoy!

Sweet that this is close but it doesn't seem to really be there??

EDIT: It is there now! Thanks for the effort on this. I now have my evening planned...

Eddeduck-

I'm not sure how much information you can impart on sales, but if it is at all possible, could you let us know the following a little bit down the road-

-How well the game does in unit sales?
-How this game stacks up against various other games in the past?

I am curious as to how well this game does, and how it does in relation to the steady growth of mac as a whole. Having ordered and played both Tomb Raider and Bioshock, I am EXTREMELY impressed with the quality of the port and the level of graphics on the mac you have been able to bring over to our side. My hope is that people support efforts such as these (as oppose to pirating them) and that this is simply another stepping stone to eventually seeing new releases brought to the Apple side of the house, as well as the PC, Xbox 360m, and PS3 ecosystems.

Thanks again.
