iPad deals?

Hey, has anyone seen any place were you can also get discounts on an iPad other than Apple? Amazon seems to have iPads more expensive than on the Apple Store itself.

--Also the apple online store is currently being updated.

i guess some discount is better than nothing. beats all the other days of the year there is no sale

what bull crap... if you purchase the iPod Touch from Amazon it costs 199.99 + shipping and handling to ship from Target.com

Target.com has it for the same price but free shipping.

I got an Amazon gift card so this upsets me

edit:found out tax is also tacked on to the price if you buy the Target one on Amazon. Not a deal at all.

No discount on UK Apple TV is a bit disappointing.
Also, you can't get student discount as well as black Friday discounts, I've just tried.

German Apple Store has a security problem - you cant finish the order

The german Apple Store is denying your order - the browser is showing a security problem.

Oh, and just to answer my own question... yes the discount still applies to "upgraded" items.

Bad timing!

I bought a 64gb iPad a couple of days ago which is due to be delivered today.

If only I'd waited a bit and I'd have saved £35!

Does anyone know if Apple take pity on unfortunate idiots like me and give some money back?

(I think I know the answer...)

There used to be one or two items that had bigger discounts in years past. Two years ago it was a special edition of Office for $150 instead of $500, last year it was a music keyboard for half off. NOTHING like that this year.

What a paltry, niggardly, penny pinching scrooge of a sale.

There's the 14day rule so you should be fine. Give Apple a call and I am sure they will sort you out. Might not want to call today though because although these discounts are not huge they will persuade a lot of people who don't shop around and/or can't get any other discounts, so they will be busy.

The US store says you can get an iPhone 4 from £199, is that if you sign up for a contract with the carrier, or the handset price?

Just asking because I'm from the UK, thought it seems cheap.

US contracts are usually far higher than UK and don't forgot US prices do not include sales tax

Serves you right. It has always been this poor and only ever a token discount on a few items. Bestbuy.co.uk was giving 15% cashback the other week on all items delivered (10% now). You should have bitten then.

Yep, completely missed that one. Dammit. Thanks for pointing it out now though.

The refurb I just purchased was 15% off anyway. Phew!

nice charts :) they really get the point across!

decent discounts on the German store as well.

Not taking my CC out of the wallet today. I know these discounts are all Apple ever does but if they were maybe discounted $300 at least, I would be buying something today. I don't need another Mac but that would have really made me consider.

The purpose of a sale is to drive customers to make a purchase, and if it accomplishes that task, then it was a good sale. We all know that many people will be making their apple purchases tomorrow, so while we all may grumble, "they should give me a bigger discount because I feel entitled to it", from Apple's side they are doing it right.

And are you really surprised that Amazon and other retailers are selling cheaper than Apple's main store? That is the way it is supposed to be. You generally don't want to undercut your own resellers. You sell it wholesale and you let them duke it out amongst themselves.

Finally, someone who understands retail and what the purpose of a sale is.

Office in Switzerland

Switzerland:

Office 2011 in Apple Store: today 178 SwissFrancs instead of 200

Office 2011 somewhere else: 109 SwissFrancs

:eek::eek::mad:
Thank you Apple for this big discount!

As per usual, these "deals" are pathetic.

If I want to go shopping on black friday i'm not buying any Apple products. Most major retailers will let you take 30-60% off today, plus an additional $10-20 in immediate cash savings on top of that. it's a one day thing, and its all about volume and discounts.

Apple doesn't know the meaning of either.

It's clear you don't understand why stores and companies have sales.

Hint: As shocking as this will be to you, it's not to save you money.

Not much savings, in fact I can save a lot more with the "Military/Government Purchase Program" (I work for the DOD)

The MacBook Pro 15" i7 I have had my eye on will cost me $114 more with the Black Friday price then it would any other day with the Government discount, plus Apple Care will cost an addition $110 on Black Friday ($224 extra for Black Friday, Thanks Mr. Jobs!)

And it looks like you can't combine savings.
