discount seems off

I noticed iPod Touch 32 GB being $299 last few days, and today it only dropped by a dollar. Black Friday discount is not what it seems....

So I suppose he should charge to the hilt and expect TAX payers to bail him out?
Get Real

You don't want to save $11 off of an iPod nano?

By choosing to not buy anything because of the economy, you're actually making things worse (not better).

People who are spending money this holiday season, especially with big ticket items, are actually contributing to economy and it's recovery.

Spending more> company profits> company hires more people> less people on unemployment
Spending less> company losses money> company shuts down> more people on unemployement

That is what screwed the Economy in the first place. People spending what they never had to begin with.
Everyone thinking the where entitled to homes.

Come on, I don't think he meant spend money you DON'T HAVE, just that not spending also has a negative impact on the economy (i.e. if you don't buy anything, then retailers don't make any money, which means jobs are cut, which means less people buying, etc). We all get that half the reason we are in the predicament we are in right now is due to people buying everything on credit. No one is saying we should go down that road again....

Thank you Amazon! I was trying to decide between a 13" MBP and an iMac 21" since they both cost the same, ended up ordering the iMac. Haven't had a desktop in over 8 years but since the little netbook I'm using right now is more than enough to browse while in the living room the iMac should do just fine in my bedroom, not to mention it should last longer.

Had $277 in credit from trade ins from all my 360 games add the $149 discount and no $110 tax, I ended up only paying 726!

Huh? You mean if we don't all go out and buy MacBooks tomorrow Apple will go out of business? When we buy Apple products all we are doing is padding that cool $80 billion then have laying around. In some cases, that's fine. But don't give someone a guilt-trip for being frugal during hard times. Most of us have to worry about our families, not the state of the economy. Besides, ironically, it's reckless spending that not only drives our economy, but it got us into this mess.

The sales are all pretty modest. electrolondon is selling the MacBook airs for like 700$ to $800. Might be worth a look. Don't know how reliable the site is though.

Charged a sales tax on the gift card, but not sure why. iTunes charges tax, so expect to get double taxed.
Not here in California. Not from Best Buy when I buy gift cards, nor the iTunes Store when I'm buying content (music, apps, etc.).

You should bring this up with your local elected officials.

dissapointing

Pretty dissapointing discounts. Barely worthwhile, unless you were going to get one anyway.

In Brazil, the lowest end iMac 21" have a -$50 discount, really disappointing. The biggest discount happens a week or two after a new model's launch.

Amazon has the base MacBook Air for $849. Really tempting, but I'd want the 128GB version.

You're a moron. So your saying him not buying an apple product is going to make apple hire more people. And that he should buy apple products even though the black Friday sales are a joke compared to everyone else. Apples too busy hiring chinese factory workers anyway.

Yup.....I'm hoping for a further discount on the 128GB/4GB 11".

Amazon just had the newest version 8GB iPod touch as a Lightning Deal at 9pm PST for $145. It was sold out in less than 5 seconds. I was all ready on my computer and iPhone to buy it, but it was gone in the blink of an eye. They must have had 5 devices involved in that sale.:mad::p

It kept going from down to up, but I think it's down for good now.

12:22 pm EST - US Apple store down. Hopefully we'll see what they're offering soon.

Happy Thanksgiving! Yes, even to those who are not in the US, I wish everyone a happy day to give thanks. We should be thankful every day but as an American, I am particularly thankful on this great day. Now when is that page going to come back online .......

Apple never has good BF prices so I'm not suprised this year is the same as last year and the next year will be the same as well.

Amazon's been really sketchy with their deals this year. They seem to make very small amounts of their inventory available for deals and some of the items had price markups right before the deal to make it look like the price was lower. I was looking to pick up a hard drive and noted that on two of the ones they had deals on, the prices on the hard drives had gone up the day before the sale, and then the deal price was actually higher than the previous regular price. I was also trying to pick up the iPod touch. I was clicking repeatedly the second the "Select Options" button became available but still didn't get it. And once the deal is over, I'm sure it'll be available in-stock, ready to ship at the regular price. In other words, there definitely is a designated amount of stock for the sale.

Amazon had a lightning Deal on 8GB Black or White iPod Touch for $145 at 9pm PST. No tax in some states and free shipping. But they are gone in 5 seconds the most.
