iPad Black Friday > Target : iPad Air

I have no love for scalpers but she was doing something within her rights. Its Target's fault for letting her buy so many and/or not having a lot of inventory. Of course they typically do that on purpose for black friday anyways. Limit the stock, they use that to get you in the door and only sell a handful of them, i.e., a loss leader.
I feel you calling her a scumbag is probably a bit ironic considering you were speeding doing 180 (still calling BS on this) to get to target for an iPad. Just forget about it. You got an iPad, it's all okay. You are taking this all far too personally. Take your displaced anger, sit down and write a letter to Target corporate. Tell them that you have the 16 GB iPad and the 32 GB iPad and this added stress of the "scumbag" who bought a bunch has pushed you over the edge. Tell Target.

Why are you so stressed out? It is an iPad. You seem like you may be at least of legal driving age and you have some cash so you probably work, surely this is just a silly thing to decide on and you have more important things to worry about, right?
FWIW, there are two sides to this story of yours but again, didn't you get an iPad that you can return if you don't really want it?
I arrived at my closest target two hours before the store opened on thursday, I was about 40th in line. Everyone in front of me wanted the 50" tv deal they were offering. I was not sure about the stock level so I made sure to get there early. The store had a lot of iPads in stock, but they only had space grey iPad Air's. I was the first person to buy an iPad that night so I was out of the store by 8:05. I even traded the $100 gift card for cash to someone I was in line with so I basically got my 16gb iPad Air for $401 with tax.
Earlier today I went to a different Target and I saw that they had a few iPad Air's in stock. I was a bit surprised.

Walked into my local target at 9:45 at night to be told they were sold out.
Called another target and they said they still had some. Flew there.
Turns out some people hadn't yet claimed their iPads using the tickets target passed out. So when I got there they started selling them off to whoever wanted. Got in a 5 person line an nabbed a 16GB Space Grey with my red card and got the $100 gift card.

Just as I suspected. Those of us who ordered online (64gb weren't available at my local target stores).
Target cheap with shipping. They are using UPS "sure post" which is super cheap USPS you will be lucky to receive iPad in 8-10 days shipping.
Mine won't be delivered until December 9-11th. Basically 2 weeks. Ridiculous.

Yes right now the 32gb air is still brand new, in case i decide to stick with my mini retina, ill sell the 32gb for profit. So im using the 16gb air that i bought this week for now until i make a decision. If i keep the air, ill keep the 32gb, cause in my case i would only be paying $50 more over the 16gb air. Id say thats worth it.
What profit, who is going to pay you full price when they can buy from Apple
$575 isnt full price. $600 is, plus add tax. After selling the games that i used the target card on, it brought my cost down to $512 tax in.

I don't get worked up over the great injustice you felt after speeding to a target to buy an iPad. My local target allowed me to exchange my Nov 25 purchase and re-purchase it with the $100 gift card. Yes, I lost my 5% red card discount but it still got me a $70 gift card (net) for free.

Well, Target was pretty successful on Black Friday with regard to iPads. Crazily enough, the iPad (in various incarnations) accounted for a whopping 18% of the ENTIRE STORE'S revenue on Black Friday, with the Air accounting for over 10% of all receipts and the 16 GB Mini taking up 7%.
That's pretty insane.

Yeah i got it at target. I had to wait about two weeks and drive to a farther target to get it exchanged. The new one that I exchanged was good. Although it had some slight backlight bleeding in the bottom left corner. Seems like this is a common spot for backlight bleeding.
I kept it and have already sent it away to my parents.

I didn't take a chance and requested new cc's from the bank. Didn't have any problems and they were able to overnight new cards to me.
Called the credit card company today and a new card is on its way!
I think i'll trash my credit card number every year since i use it for everything and there's so many places that could get hacked.

Target wasn't the only store affected. I spoke with my bank, and although they couldn't specify due to a non-disclosure agreement, they told me that a major home improvement store (Lowes, Sears or Home Depot), a major electronics store (likely Best Buy), and competitors of Target (likely Walmart or Kmart) were also affected by the credit card breach.
No idea why the other stores are not speaking up, probably because of the holiday shopping rush.
