I got 400 bucks trade in at Amazon for my 16gb 4S... best cash deal I found was about $375. I chose the credit cause I buy from Amazon all the time.

$450 via ebay. But I digress. If you are lazy and don't want to deal with the hassles, yeah amazon trade in is one of the better places to do it.

I think Apple must have decided to nick all of the iPhones in the first batch so that nobody could resell them online and make a profit.

(1) Black Iphones are comming new out of the boxes aready scuffed.

my black 32g iphone 5 is one of them...came out of the box this morning with two dents on the edge of the aluminium.

I called up apple today, but they dk how long the replacement is gonna get here, have to wait till monday to find out. :/

One person on another forum got straight to the matter and took keys and a SIM card tray pin to the back and edges of an in-store iPhone 5 unit with these results.

Vandal. Needs to be prosecuted.

Then every guy I know who has a white iPhone is a sissy? Tell that to my boss is a hefty 200LB+ man.

That's just stupid... so every house you go into that has a white wall it's a girlie room?

Pink is a color I would say is girlie... white is just neutral. If anything white signifies cleanliness.

Um... did you two quote the wrong person? I said I didn't think it was girlie and that it is just a color.

I think people are trolling here, out of the box dents, nicks? Hard to believe

No trolling from me. I had two small nicks on my black 64gb phone and nothing on my black 32gb phone.

I have had every iphone and have never seen this.

Mine arrived with two nicks off the bezel too! WTF apple! This needs to go on Front Page somewhere so that Apple and the carriers know this is happening.

I may wait until the rush is over and bring my phone back. Not sure yet. The nicks were so small, that I was able to touch them up with a sharper.

I am as OCD as they get, so this says a lot if i'm not sure about taking it back.

doesn't bother me if you use it.

Good Lord Apple, you use 72 megapixel cameras to make sure the black plastic/glass pieces on the back fit just right and flush with the aluminum plate and then go and nick up the front.

Actually, if we do decide we want to go with white instead, can we just bring it into the Apple store and exchange it there for a different color (provided we bought through Apple)? I seem to recall something in the past where they did not allow color exchanges for one of the other iPhones.

Okay so if you are getting these out of the box - what about when you start using it?

Remember the original Nano after use? Apple had to replace those.

Mine is actually good compared to other people. Still.. I will try to exchange locally.

When you guys exchange are you getting the Applecare exchange ones that won't match your original box?

Or are you getting brand new in box sealed units?

Don't know if I should keep mine. It has the scratches on the back (1 is 1/2 inch long). If it wasn't for them being out of stock online, I would just send it back and reorder but right now I'm not even getting the joy of playing with it.

Can't set it up because otherwise my other phone will deactivate and the sims aren't compatible now obviously.

Ugh...enough with the "OMG it scratches!" comments...everyone knows this. It's just that with the black the contrast of the dark coating and light metal underneath makes the scratching waaay more noticeable and dramatic, thus cheapening the look quickly...iphone+case=happy customers who are concerned with scratching!
