I haven’t seen people complain about 30 pin in a long timePeople are STILL bitching about it. Apple is in a different place as a company than they were then and the iPhone is a much more ubiquitous device than any mac, iPod, or even the early iPhones were. It's not to say there aren't positives to USB C, just to give perspective of what a more layman users experience is.
30 pin wasn’t digital like c and lightningThey need to move on to USB-C. However, I wonder if that’ll affect wired CarPlay. People assume it’ll just work but that wasn’t the case with the Works with iPod transition from 30-pin connector to lightning.
Perhaps you missed the /s tag? ?Yes, because avoiding the relatively short term pain of changing a plug is worth all apples profits from future iphone sales in the whole EU, are you serious?
There are over 1B iPhones with Lightning ports in the wild. There will be complaints when they switch, just like there are complaints that they don’t switch. Will USB-C be around in ten years like Lightning has been, or will go through all of this again — and meanwhile adding more to landfills in the process?Suppose they do switch this year. Most iPads use USB-C currently, why do they still need iPhone 14 to retain a lightning port? Just make it happen!
And someone like you with no imagination will reap the benefits along with us. So be quiet.and finally when all the whiners get their beloved usb-c port, they’ll drum up something else to complain about.
they can’t just change a design that quickly. iPhone 14 was likely finalized around now or a few months ago and they’ll be preparing to ramp up production soon.Suppose they do switch this year. I've had a pretty decent experience with my Pro. I never really been concerned with the port or cables for that or for my mac mini. It's really nice being able to use my USB-C to HDMI adapter or USB hub between the two.I’m curious how iPad users have liked or disliked type-C as a physical connector (ignoring speeds, features, etc.).
Some comment they don’t like the physical connector.
How have iPad users held up? Would you want to go back to Lightning?
It hasn’t been an issue for me, either positive or negative. It’s just a cable, I am fine with lightening or UDB C. The only difference was I had to purchase a longer USB C cable for my iPad Air. The excess cables went back to Apple so they can use them for parts. In the end I had to spend more to get the cable I wanted…I’m curious how iPad users have liked or disliked type-C as a physical connector (ignoring speeds, features, etc.).

Precisely! The same way the did away with ports on MacBook Pros years ago.I hope when they move to usb C they do it swiftly across the board, whats the point of having USB C on iphone and then still keep around lightning for keyboard, mouse, airpods.
You might be interested in this thread:Just want something faster than USB 2.0 transfer speeds getting 4K video off is time consuming. I’m sure it’s miserable with ProRES RAW video on iPhone 13 Pro. Doesn’t matter if it’s lightning or USB-C. One one hand, USB-C is more convenient, but lightning is more durable.
Your son in law is to blame for that, your daughter should have done better. I feel sorry for you. ?My son-in-law had to suffer a dead iPhone 12 for his wife’s/my daughter’s graduation last Friday because I only had two USB-C charging options in my car. It’s past time for this to happen.
And I’m typing this on my 7th gen iPad with, you guessed it, a lightning port.
