I'd love to be finally able to customize my iPad/iPhone home screens much more
and also hide/disable the App library grouping and just have directly the App library list, when swiping from the right hand side.
LaunchPad for iPad.

Idk why someone is giving a thumbs down.Just give os macOS for our new iPads M1
What's up with the iPhone's menu design? Seems pretty good to me at the moment. If it were up to me I'd get rid of the randomly categorised apps in the app drawer and have it go straight to the alphabetic list, but I don't really care - I always use pull-down-to-search for any app that's not on my one Home Screen page anyway (just as on Mac I use Spotlight for anything that's not in the dock).Don't get me wrong, the iPhone's menu design also needs to be refreshed. Apparently Apple has decided to focus on the iPad this year as well, unfortunately... Let's see, there's a little bit left until June.
I consider iPadOS to be a subsidiary of iOS as it is basically iOS with adjustments to deal with the larger screen like split view and a few other other small additions (or subtractions). Everybody (including you I would assume if I searched your posting history) still uses the term ‘iOS devices’ and includes in that iPhones, the iPod touch and iPads."iOS 15 to Bring Redesigned iPad Home Screen"
No it won't.
I know you clarified in the article to include iPadOS 15 but on an Apple-centric web site you'd think this would be correctly stated in a headline.
That's what I'm hoping for. We'd probably have heard about it by now, but I'd really like it to act more like MacOS when connected to a keyboard and pointing device, essentially I want it to be a hybrid device. Still they must have something planned for that 16GB RAM. Xcode for iPad maybe? With an M1 now powering the new iPad Pros, hopefully there will be some new features to take advantage of that power for those users.
It's not the home screen that holds iPadOS back though is it (though I agree it's not great right now). It's its multitasking capabilities.Seems to me the leak is well calculated - They just announced a beast of an iPad Pro. Reviewers are probably getting devices as we speak. I can predict that the main negative feedback will be OS limitations. Hinting to changes in iPadOS home screen does provide with free publicity in review videos without spoiling anything
That wouldn’t be a great idea.Just give os macOS for our new iPads M1
Funny, because Apple is the company that has the longest hardware/software support. Perhaps you could build a tech company that would support hardware forever in a world where the technology landscape is changing dramatically every year. And most importantly dropping support a slew of older iOS devices and Watches.
You mean you want a MacBook Air with touchscreen?Just give os macOS for our new iPads M1
Came here to say exactly this..... glad it was the first post.So it's like the profiles on the Nokia3310?
You mean you want a MacBook Air with touchscreen?
Yeah I agree. Apple’s hardware is the best I’ve seen it, probably ever. From the iPhones to iPad lineup, to the M1 Macs, Watch, AirTag, etc. Now time for the software to catch up on the iPad.If the ‘Spring Loaded’ event was any indication, this should be an exciting year for Apple hardware and software.
I don’t buy for a second that people wouldn’t be going crazy for an iPad that turned into an iMac when docked. That wouldn’t be a great idea.
Lack of privacy for those services and/or the companies behind the services? Facebook, for example...Nice, will happily welcome anything fresh and new. 👍
Apple is working on upgrades to iMessage, with the eventual goal of acting as more of a social network that is in a better position to compete with WhatsApp.
This will be a very tough undertaking, considering iMessage is only supported by Apple OSs. Even if Apple release Android/Windows clients for iMessage, what’s the incentive for people to move away from their current well-established messaging services? 🤷🏻♂️
I don’t know if macOS is coming to iPad so much as the iPad theoretically should be able to run any app the M1 Macs can run. This is huge for Lightroom and Photoshop users like my wife. It would be neat to see macOS available on the iPad when docked. Other than the different interface (Touch vs Pointer), why wouldn’t the new iPad Pros be able to run macOS? I would love to run macOS on my iPad Pro when attached to my Magic Keyboard then return back to iPadOS when off.Idk why someone is giving a thumbs down.
They just took their mac specific ARM chip and put it in an ipad. Anyone who doesn't believe that macos isn't coming to the iPad is either insanely ignorant or oblivious at this point.
