Absolutely, so it lives up to the " your next computer" pitch. You mean you want a MacBook Air with touchscreen?
I feel like we may get an announcement that all M1 iPad Pros can run macOS (or some equivalent game changing announcement).Yeah, new lock screens and better Memoji is why you need an M1... given iPadOS isn’t going to justify anything beyond an A12, why not unleash the beast and let it run macOS?
One can only hope, I only waited about 7 years for iOS to allow sorting notes by title instead of date, but it did finally happen.Cant they just add in a superate volume control for alarms and ringtones? pllleeeeeeaaaasseee
Now that M1's can run iOS apps there's no excuse for Apple not to offer a touchscreen upgrade for MacBooks and iMacs. Of course if you could add one for $100 to your MBA there might not be as much demand for $2400 iPad Pros...You mean you want a MacBook Air with touchscreen?

Who cares what that guy thinks? That wouldn’t be a great idea.
Makes sense. Last year was an iPhone year, this year will be about iPadOS and taking advantage of the M1.
He didn't just *think* though. He's an experienced macOS and iOS dev. This isn't some random guy on Internet forum. He clearly put some thoughts into it.Who cares what that guy thinks?
MacOS on the iPad Pro is a great idea from a portability perspective.
Exactly this. It’s all about a unified development platform (Apple Silicon + Swift / SwiftUI) that allows developers to easily create apps that run across all of Apple’s devices.think it is much more likely that Apple wants to keep them separate but having them run the same Apps (sold through the App store only for iPad). The problem for the iPad is more about the software available and not about what UI is used.
💯 This.I really and truly believe that the internal upgrades that have been made to iPad Pro were solely for the purpose of running higher caliber apps, not some crazy new version of macOS for touch. It's just not going to happen.
I’m wagering on this happening.if it turns out to be a more modest update but only the professional level apps (I don’t use) require the newer hardware,
I just imagine them getting Blizzard on board to release WoW on the iPads to showcase it.They already have it native M1 support in Mac OS so I’m betting it wouldn’t be a hard thing. Having one of the worlds most known PC game running on the iPad would be amazing PR for it and also show all other developers what can be achieved.Exactly this. I suspect this is the solution that Apple sees. If the M1 iPad Pro can run any app the M1 MacBook can, then the devs can write the same app for the macOS App Store and iPadOS App Store. Some part of me suspects that Apple sees the iPad Pro with magic keyboard as the ideal hybrid form factor. You have the traditional laptop design, and you can still detach the tablet from the keyboard for when you just want the tablet portion.
All that’s left is to continue porting macOS functionality to iPadOS so it can handle more PC tasks.
Uh oh MacRumors, be careful. You don’t want to upset the folks who think posting leaks / unofficial info from Apple is unethical!
Anyway... This being iOS **15** I definitely expect some major changes. Should be a good one for sure.

Seems to me the leak is well calculated - They just announced a beast of an iPad Pro. Reviewers are probably getting devices as we speak. I can predict that the main negative feedback will be OS limitations. Hinting to changes in iPadOS home screen does provide with free publicity in review videos without spoiling anything
