iOS 14.x has so many bugs/lazy design, like scrolling stuttering in safari and other apps, clock widget shows Cupertino time instead of the local time (maybe not a bug, just lazy design), the App Library search by name stops working after a couple of weeks and requires a full reboot, no widget as before way to see your wake up alarm or upcoming reminders, etc. I have no hopes of iOS 15 fixing those decisions. Another lost year of iOS opportunities goes to hell. Let’s wait, but I have no hopes. Apple is self pleasing, Tim does not uses an iPhone, is clear.

I just want better widgets and complications on lock screen. A complete redesign would be great too but that’s not realistic.

Uh oh MacRumors, be careful. You don’t want to upset the folks who think posting leaks / unofficial info from Apple is unethical!

Anyway... This being iOS **15** I definitely expect some major changes. Should be a good one for sure.
You see the difference between this and yesterday's post, right?

Exactly. Biggest thing I missed transferring from classic old Nokia phones to an iPhone 3GS was losing profiles for different kinds of situations. Glad to hear they are coming, FINALLY!
Apple, if you're listening, let us connect watch faces to specific situation profiles. Wouldn't it be great if we could have different work and home watch faces (for example) without the need to manually change between them?

In other words, my initial impressions of Tuesday were correct (if this rumor is true). More awesome hardware improvements but running basically the same old software. The "convergence" people are going to be disappointed this summer.

I really and truly believe that the internal upgrades that have been made to iPad Pro were solely for the purpose of running higher caliber apps, not some crazy new version of macOS for touch. It's just not going to happen.
Couldn't agree more. Well said.

It'd be nice if Apple made widgets for their first party apps. I used to use the Phone's favorites widget. I'm surprised they didn't at least replace the ones that used to exist.

I'm really hoping "updated Lock Screen" means customisable Lock Screen buttons on iPhone X style devices. And maybe an always on display for OLED phones.

...

Codenamed "Sky," Apple's planned software updates otherwise read like selective enhancements rather than major changes. For example, today's report indicates that Apple is working on upgrades to iMessage, with the eventual goal of acting as more of a social network that is in a better position to compete with WhatsApp, although details are scant on what those changes could be.

That‘s cool and all but if one of these upgrades isn‘t RCS fallback support or includes a release on Android, it‘s all gone with the wind the second it hits in countries outside of US and Australia. iPhone market share is dwindling here and I can count the number of iMessage users I regularly talk to (that don‘t immediately tell me to go to WhatsApp or don‘t reply at all) on 2 fingers.

I‘d love to go iMessage but it just isn‘t possible in the vast majority of Europe… a RCS fallback could help since it enables me to reach people on Android without resorting to basic SMS (which includes exorbitant MMS charges).

I have a knack for buying a new device only to be let down by my own expectations. I really want the new iPad Pro, but if iPadOS doesn’t make a lot of ground up on the MacOS, then I don’t really need to upgrade my 2018. Now, if I can only hold my “want” until we see what WWDC brings us...

Dear Tim, I DONT CARE about preferences of WHEN notifications show up. I want them to not pop up covering the top part of my screen while I am using the top part and repeatedly take me to another screen or cover the top part of the screen when I am watching or reading something. Why can't notifications show as a strip on top like Androids

MacOS dual boot would be awesome, but I'd be super happy with external hard drive support for workflows and a more dynamic experience when hooked up to an external monitor.

I want an imac with an apple pencil the most though. That's the dream. A Cintiq Pro 24 is over $2000 and iMacs have better screens. Give me one now.
