Looks nice. I think the lack of a rounded rect design makes sense for a TV - especially a 60 inch one. After all, if you took iMac sized rounded corners and put them on a 60 inch screen they'd look too small proportionally, and if you scaled them up the bezel would be absurd. Plus people just expect much smaller bezels on a TV versus a monitor nowadays, and you can't exactly have rounded corners on the screen itself (obviously you can technically do it with OLED, but no one wants a TV screen that cuts off their picture).

I also wonder if they'll use that design for the displays they no doubt have to release for the updated Mac Pro...

In the UK we have 'Sky Q' which is far superior to the current Apple TV. Not sure if you guys get it in the US.

Now if Apple actually make a TV that has Siri and can sync with my Apple devices - THAT will be a game changer.

In so far behind in the tv thing. I still haven’t upgraded to 4K. I just don’t see the difference that I did when we jumped to HD. I realize technically the pixel jump is even higher, but I just can’t get myself to pull the trigger.
Same here and I don't want a "smart" (read insecure) TV. I just want it to display picture from an input.

Not 'far superior' in my opinion. Sky Q has some benefits, but they mostly relate to the deals Sky have in place.
Apple TV is always so calming to use after switching from the Sky Q input; More thoughtful design, example - the visual scrubbing is wonderfully user-friendly on Apple TV.

By the time this comes out OLED TVs will finally be a reasonable price and Apple will charge last yr's OLED prices. As an OLED owner, I will tell you I love my TV and curious to see where the technology is in 4 years. :)

A beautifully designed Apple television with a super-fast UI and quality internals would be lovely, but I bet they'd still ruin it by not including any HDMI ports or some such nonsense. I hope they prove me wrong. If this is even real.

LOL. I can totally see them doing that. And people will justify it. "You don't need to connect anything to it! You can get your games and movies through iTunes! And all your streaming services through our ATV platform."

We'll see. The big cube stuck on the back of it though does not remind me of Apple though - I'd expect a smooth sloping form factor on the back like an iMac. Betting this is isn't something coming out. Time will tell as always though.

Will be pretty cool if it is true, I bet the display would be insane. Looks from these images like it is undergoing some EMC testing or something like that.

Another great idea from Apple take a 400$ TV build in a 99$ AppleTV and charge 2,000$ for it. Genius.

An Apple branded TV would be nice, but if Apple doesn't include EVERY feature that is already available on other high-end TVs, a lot of people will whine about it. I already have a great TV that works very well with my Apple TV 4, and I don't see myself needing another TV any time soon. I think Apple should concentrate its creative energy on making an add-on product like the current Apple TV rather than build their own TV set. I could be wrong, of course, but I don't see Apple doing this any time soon. All of the blurry leaked images are really ridiculous in this day and age. It's like the bigfoot videos that make it hard to really see what the thing is. And isn't the Apple logo on the back of that thing off center? That seems to be a giveaway that this thing is fake. Why would Apple have the logo on a test unit, and if they did, why would it be off center?

Which is needed why? I’d rather have an upgradable box, thanks.

Because then when they come out with a new TV that has 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB (because you know RAM is just SO expensive) you will have to buy a entirely new TV instead of just the box.
