Wait, ****, thats a Tombstone Pizza. My bad.

Frozen pizza? That's sadder then boiling your bumper.

An answer to my own question.

Okay since my thread has inexplicably become one long joke (somehow about tombstone pizzas) I thought I might post for the benefit of those few people who wanted to know. I was a little iffy about boiling the bumper itself so when I got home from work I tried to use a blow dryer. I put it on high and held it over the bumper one section at a time. I held the bumper with a towel so I didn't burn my hand. The heat switch on the dryer blew twice so it took some time including cool down, but I can definitely say that the heat made the bumper fit my phone better. I didn't fit badly to begin with, just a tiny amount of wiggle. It is absolutely perfect now. I'd imagine boiling would be fine, the water probably doesn't even need to boil. You just need to heat the bumper a bit, high heat. Let it cool down and your good to go.

Yep, I had done the hair dryer technique as well before i got the nerve to boil it. Both methods improved the fit. MUCH improved now.

No need to worry about hurting the bumper by boiling it for 1-2 minutes at a time. Several of us have done it now with great success/no harm.

In all seriousness, I boiled my white bumper twice for 1 minute at a time, and it has done WONDERS for my bumper. I actually boiled it for one minute (in a vigorous boil at that), then cooled it off immediately in cold water under the sink faucet. Then boiled it again and cooled it again

My white bumper was originally so loose it was beyond cheesy/crappy feeling. I mean it was REALLY loose.

I saw a mention on here of boiling it and I tried it, and it worked like a charm. That sucker fits so tight now it feels like it's part of the phone.

Really, boiling it works fantastically. I wish I'd have done it sooner

sounds like you're making a Samurai sward :p

another solution is to leave the bumper on your car's dashboard and let it soak up the hot sun!:cool::cool::cool: by the time you are back from work u'll have a perfect bumper!

I just got my bumper today and will definitely try boiling it/hairdrying it because it feels incredibly loose. Not like it will fall off the phone, but such as when I grip it (ironically with the death grip) I can feel the bumper shifting around and such.

I also have a SkinIt skin on as well on the back, and notice that it doesn't play nice with the bumper 100%... maybe heating it up will fix the problem

And in the amount of time you spent typing this you could have already solved your issue had you just boiled the thing! :D

I boiled mine. Put in about 2 inches of water got it to a light boil and dropped it in for like a minute. Took it out and let it dry and now it fits perfectly.

Haven't tried it myself, but I'd definitely recommend boiling over hair dryer or heat gun or oven. Boiling water = 100 degC, but other methods might cook it too much or cause local hot spots that would damage the bumper materials.

Still no word from anyone if the Speck GeoMetric can be boiled to tighten it up a bit....

I just boiled my bumper and it fits a lot better on the right side now. I wish I would've tried this before I put my invisi on. Oh well it will work wonders with my PS when it comes in.

I'm currently processing a video I made for the process and will then be uploading it to YouTube. Will post back once it's done.

How many watts is your dryer? Did you do it on high or low setting?

Should I salt the water first?

I wouldn't recommend putting the bumper straight into cold water after it's been heated. That would cause it to cool unevenly, thus possibly causing the fitment issue you are trying to fix.

As said, steaming is a lot better option then boiling and a heat gun on low is a better option then a hair dryer.
