i'm glad you guys like the Thread Starter addition!

Hey, can I get an award or something for the suggestion of the Thread Starter idea? You know, one of those blue-ribbons?
:) i'm glad it's well-received!

I don't think you'll be geting that:( if you do, than i would like my ribbon for submiting the news off iphone in Germany announced. ...
Maybe this would be a idea, then more people would search for rumors and if they submit it, they get something.... bah i don't think so.

Seriously, I vote no to the bold look.
I agree...

I have a long user name, to start with, and in bold it gets just overwhelming... and basically scared me a little the first time I saw it... No innuendo intended... :-o

Maybe it should only bold up users without avatars...? Edit: As suggested above... :)

This is probably why I see no need for the bold username... I just need to look for the blue ribbon and there's a pretty good chance of it being my post. :p

I'm a member of the "Go Thread Starter Tag, Boo Bold Name Tag" camp. GTSTBBNT for short.

T-Shirts will be available shortly.

I actually thought it was because I had just made 601 status initially... but I don't think too many people will have that problem. :) The bold doesn't really bug me, but I think it suits avatar-less MacRumors posters more.

Yeah, I agree. I don't really think it's necessary since we have signatures and other information to recognise our own posts by. Plus it just kind of looks messy.

As I don't have an avatar, or a signature, I find it quite useful. However I agree the bold typeface isn't right. How about a 'you' graphic similar to the 'thread starter' one.

On another forum I visit, the bold usernamed people are the mods, so it's bit confusing. But hey, it doesn't make a difference. Go ahead. I don't really care.

I like MR's mod distinguisher more. It's really hard to miss who isn't a mod.

Based on some discussion, I added a feature for testing/evaluation in which your own username is bolded in the threadview.

Anyone love it or hate it?
Like both the "Thread Starter" and bolding of the user's name.

Bolding of the user's name is very handy for those who don't have a 'Tar. Even a change of color to say red, might be handy for those who scroll through the thread quickly.

Of the two, the "Thread Starter" is the most useful by far. :)
