AW is having its iPhone moment.

[doublepost=1504647541][/doublepost]You're missing something. Cell phones are banned during play.
If cell phones are banned how are they sending communications via Apple Watch?

likely wifi.

once your phone has seen a WiFi access point and signed in. your watch will automatically log into that WiFi access point on it's own even without the phone nearby. Allowing for WiFi use of many of the functions.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this sounds like the "used an Apple Watch to steal signs" portion of this story could be summarized as "the people stealing signs sent a text message to a person in the dugout. That person happened to be wearing an Apple Watch".

Clickbait headline, much?

While an Apple Watch was not in any way necessary in making the steal possible, it could certainly be instrumental in making it IMPOSSIBLE, if only catcher and pitcher were allowed to privately communicate on them. ;)

I know it's played-out to cry "first world problems", but...

The fact that I could not possibly care less about the monumental waste of time and resources that are major league sports notwithstanding, I dare say there are other, larger issues in the world these days than if a sportsing team cheated at sportsing with their Apple toys.

Ban all electronic devices during game time. Ban them from the dugouts, club houses, players etc. If someone gets caught with one, it's a one year ban.

Problem solved.

Given the Billions of $ involved in professional sports, cheating is quite a big deal. It is not much different than the Maddoff Ponzi scheme - theft is theft.
