Oh that's why. Probably also explains why he just spewed some nonsense without intelligently supporting his thesis. Remind me to never send my kids to Syracuse.

Are you serious? You have a PHD in bio and you don't know that SOME cancer causes have been elucidated, such as p53 TSG errors?

Wow. Again, never sending my kids to Syracuse.

A PHD must not be what it used to be. From what I hear it is near impossible to get less than an A or B as long as you behave and act liberal.

Where is the surge in brain cancer cases from the incredible rise in the usage of cell phones?
Longterm_LineGraph_Site_072_Sex_0.png

From http://seer.cancer.gov/statfacts/html/brain.html
Well, to be fair, the first commercial cell phone entered the market in 1983 according to Wikipedia, and it looks like there's a spike in 1985 to a level that stays relatively constant.

Of course, that also coincides with the Macintosh being released, and Steve has told us all the we hold our phones wrong, so there could be a correlation...! *Puts on his tin foil hat and his phone into a Faraday cage*

And in a more serious note, why does the above graph for deaths stay relatively constant, when the 5 year brain cancer survival rate has increase signifcantly over the same time frame? (Same source as above)

I'm very sorry for your diagnosis. However, we do not know what causes cancer - just what increases your risk. If we knew the exact cause we'd be on our way to a cure.
What the flying ****... You really need to get your educational money back.. O_O

My god. The technical ignorance and FUD in this thread is unbelievable.

People talking about cell phones putting out "radiation" as if it were from a nuclear source

Listen up. When engineers use the term "electromagnetic radiation", the word "radiation" simply refers to waves radiating (spreading) outward like ripples in a pond.

That's all that it means. It's just like saying a girl radiates beauty or happiness.

SAR reports refer to the amount of thermal energy that might be absorbed. I.e. heating up nearby cells. That's the danger to sperm and brain cells... the heating... not any ionizing DNA effect.

Fortunately, an adult skull is pretty good protection from this heating effect, with the exception of openings like the ear.

It seems like you have problems understand basic language...
We know many genetical errors and faulty molecular pathways that causes cancer, but we most certainly don't know what causes them.

For instance; we know that RNA polymerase errors or radiation mutations may result in the loss of P53 dimer structure. This will ultimately inhibit expression of proteins that play major role in cell division (P21 for example).
However, we do not know the source of radiation (in daily life) that causes deletions or substitutions in our geneome and we also don't know the reason why/how polymerase causes errors in a unreproducible manner. (No reproducible evidence for iPhones)

I think that's what this PhD guy meant to say :D
Btw, most scientist are horrible communicators due their isolation from the society.

Truth.

Hey, the OP!

I didn't think we'd see you again. I asked some questions on the second page that you never answered.

Lately I've also been wondering about the effects of Bluetooth earbuds like the AirPods. Maybe you can direct me to any credible research regarding Bluetooth specifically.
