This really should be 19 million every week they continue to sell phones like that.

Really pathetic of Apple to include no chargers and to use a 10 year old technology to plug in their phone.

It’s just a move to make everyone go on the iCloud and eventually pay for storage and not back up their phones on their home computers because it takes too dang long.

I was backing up my Xs and it took almost 4 hrs using the lightning cable.

Utterly disgraceful business practice.

There needs to be an ISO standard on charger devices so that you only need one charging device for everything.
Oh wait, Tesla already event that.

I mean, using that logic, you can argue that any accessory should be included. Where do you stop? Should a case be included? Headphones? How about Macs that are sold without Final Cut Pro X? I mean, without FCPX you can't do pro-video on the mac!

Apple should be able to sell each item a la carte. Just want the phone? Why pay for a charger too -- need just a charger, why pay for anything other than a charger? Bundling unneeded hardware is just wasteful.

This is just silly...

If you are selling an electrical product, it should come with means to power it up and keep it working.
Far as I know all laptops come with a charger. Even Apples own earbuds do.
Even an electric toothbrush and a razor do.

Do you actually need another charger?
If it’s a USB-C prong then yeah, I need THAT charger included in every iPhone box. Why includes Lightning USB-C cable anyway?

If Apple really love the environment, then the old USB-A cable should do just fine because that’s the plug that most people have, regardless of brands?

Never knew that Brazil can dictate to Apple about what they Have to include with an iPhone when it’s sold

Funny how these topics show exactly how many fanboy are still on MacRumors.

It’s simple: a country has laws, you want to sell your stuff in that country? You follow their laws.

It’s that simple.
I guess you don’t get it. Apple is above the law.

Whilst I love Apple and their products, its so funny seeing all the Apple fan boys back Apple on this one through their rose tinted glasses.

All this utter BS about being environmentally friendly as an excuse from Apple is laughable.

If they wanted to be environmentally friendly they should’ve switched to USB C half a decade ago.

First there was dongle gate (very environmentally friendly)

Then only MB’s had USB C. Then iPad Pro.

Even in this day and age these greedy bastards continue to release products with the woeful and useless lightning port (iPhones, certain iPads, AirPods, Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, Apple TV remote maybe)

All at a time whilst virtually every other product I own uses usb c.

And then they preach and use the environmentally friendly card to the world 😂.

As much as I’d like things like the Magic Keyboard with touch ID, I won’t be purchasing any Apple peripherals or a new iPhone until they are usb c.

Hoping the EU ruling will expedite the extinction of lightning.

While I would love to see USB-C, what happens when another port is developed that is much better?

We all know how long it takes regulators to adapt.

This is only going to slow down innovation.

The environmental explanation for not including these anymore always made no sense. If Apple really cared then they would focus on making their devices last longer term and not design a new one every year.
Uh, they do last long. I have an 8s that still works I use as a back up for my car. And a 12 pro as my everyday phone. Just because they release a new phone every year does not mean the previous model does not work. All companies release new products each year. Does your logic apply to sony and samsung tvs as well?

My favorite part about all this environmental BS is that they claim everyone already has a charger, yet they include a usb-c to lightning cable, which does not even work with those chargers and thus creates even more waste. If they really cared, they wouldn’t include a cable either (not saying they should do it)

Apple should take the charging cable out of the box too. Surely if they assume that we have old chargers lying around, then we also have the cables that came with them.

More important than that, the cable they include in the box is a usb-c to lightning which does not fit to the usb-a chargers we supposedly have them from previous phones.

Nothing to do with Carbon print, just pure greed, but we deserve this because we gladly buy these phones no matter what.
