Burberry is VERY serious about their store's image. All music that plays in-store is selected by the global creative director. My guess is they're simply repurposing this list for some easy marketing.

Apple is getting completely off track. Fashion and music are never going to be very big money makers compared to other sectors they should be focusing on, and it doesn't really do much for the company's image either. Bringing culture and technology together does not mean releasing a ridiculous, gaudy, and frankly disgusting $20,000 gold plated watch or wasting billions of dollars buying a music company to launch a radio service that will inevitably fail. Apple is riding high on a wave of popularity because of its past accomplishments, but these are quickly wearing thin with a lot of people.

These things are complete distractions from what they should really be focusing on. There are so many cool things going on in the technology world right now that Apple is completely ignoring.

Honestly, I haven't seen anything new or exciting coming from Apple for a few years now. Digital Touch on a phone is the only remotely innovative feature in the new iPhone but I have serious doubts that it really adds anything new. They are so obsessed with making their products FEEL premium that they forget to actually make them premium. A 16GB phone in the year 2015? Give me a break.

Dear Lord, the reactions to this are insane. Come on people it's just a playlist curated by Burberry - not much different than those Starbucks or Pottery Barn CDs you see at the stores. Sorry this is not evidence that Apple has lost its way. Get a grip folks.

In the words of Donald Trump, Apple Music is a "disaster".

I get get all the marketing venues that open up by allowing brands to connect in this way. The problem is, this service is so far away from being primetime it's not funny.

My experience is COMPLETELY different on each platform. Desktop, Browser, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad. It's all a giant headache. Things are still not working correctly, everything has a different name. Where is Apple Music? My search to find that on each platform begins this painful endeavor. Sometimes I can purchase a song, sometimes it lets me preview, sometimes I can stream it. Playlists are broken. The content is a mess. The feed looks like garbage.

What happened to skating where the puck is going? What happened to making my life easier?

Apple has taken away many things needed as a professional to streamline products for the consumer. Then they have added many things to the consumer that are confusing. I get that Ives has made this design focused, and the coding and ideas have taken a backseat. It's time to hire someone with a vision that isn't incremental stock advancement. HP did that for years. This is Apple for pete's sake. Innovate. Never, stop, innovating.
I no longer can find my own music! The search function sucks big time. I bought a 64gb to hold all my music, and now I can't find it except when I search twice.. Thanks apple!

I don't see why Burberry's or any other entity can't have a curated channel on Apple Music.

But I listened through most of it and. . .holy ****! I rather thought that music had died long ago, but its rotting corpse as seen in these selections bore no resemblance. I heard voices, but could discern no words. I heard instruments being played, but the notes formed no pleasant chords, nor played any melodies.

I feel sorry for the tortured souls who "like" this rot. It's really sad.

Excellent point.

They're all equally stupid.

What's next, companies telling me what kind of food and movies I should like?

Why the hell does Wired's opinion have to do with the music I may or may not enjoy?

This entire thing is bizarre.

To be fair, Wired has a long history of music articles and album reviews. The Burbery channel doesn't bother me but I think it's a very clear sign of what Apple is about these days. I don't really like it, but it is what it is. Steve is long gone and Tim is definitely taking Apple in a certain direction.

Interesting enough, I suppose.. Kind of a head scratcher on another level.. It's hard to imagine Steve Jobs doing any of the things I'm seeing from Apple lately. Of course it's a moot point, Steve Jobs isn't coming back. Apparently someone decided a great deal of Apple's future is going to be about co-branding. Beats.. Burberry, Hermēs,..

Probably Chanel, Tiffany, Maserati, Bvlgari, Cadillac, Prada, Lenox, Ralph Lauren, Baccarat, Rolex, BMW and who knows what else going forward. I'm not sure I totally understand this.. Isn't this the sort of thing you do when you're out of ideas?

you know Beats1 isn't part of the Apple Music subscription right? The playlists are just part of the service. The real feature of Apple Music is unlimited streaming of over 30 million songs. Your whole paragraph makes no sense and sounds like you don't know what Apple Music actually is.

I'm totally aware of what Apple music is. The whole Beats/ Music experience is not a quality service whether you pay for it or not. I think you need to learn to read and comprehend. I've been in the music industry probably longer that you've been around.

As I was browsing through playlists in Music I noticed Vogue and GQ have playlists. I don't remember anyone freaking out over those.

Ha! Just watch now that you've brought it to their attention. I think I just felt the Earth tilt a couple more degrees...

It probably wasn't front page news.
And this shouldn't be either. A much better front page story would be Sketch announcing they're not bringing an app to the iPad Pro because they don't know if it's worth the effort or sustainable to do so.

You do realise that there are channels/playlists curated by magazines/websites on Apple Music? What is the difference between one curated by staff say at Wired, Pitchfork, or Vogue and one curated by a store?

Excellent point.

They're all equally stupid.

What's next, companies telling me what kind of food and movies I should like?

Why the hell does Wired's opinion have to do with the music I may or may not enjoy?

This entire thing is bizarre.

Honestly, iTunes Radio has always worked great to help me discover new music.

You're right - in and of itself it's not evidence of anything

I really did like this new 'luxury' focused Apple.

Apple shouldn't be financially exclusive. The reason Apple had a cult following isn't because it costs more or exudes an elitism.

Well ... it did exude an elitism, but that was against the great unwashed PC masses. You knew you had a device that was better designed because it was a carefully considered from every rationale, from software to hardware. At least it was something much deeper than milking a 'brand' for its exclusivity.

But Apple knows the BRIC countries are where it's major market growth is. Countries where success is measured by status alone.

I'm really starting to care less and less about Apple. I see those new iPhones and shake my head. While I do like the actual design of the 6/6s - the colors?? White, Gold and Pink. WTF??? The day they stop making a black iPhone - excuse me "Space Grey" is the day I stop buying it.

I love my MacPro. My iPhone is still great (5S). But man, in the software dept. Apple is really just sliding down hill. I barely use any actual Apple software these days it's gotten so bad. The OSes have really slid down hill too. Yosemite and iOS8 are pardon my French "ugly as ****". The new ones don't look to be any better. Apple Music? Please.
Burberry Becomes First Major Fashion Brand With an Apple Music Channel - WTF is that??? Who cares? In OS X they killed probably the greatest tool I have ever used on the computer - The NeXT/OSX Color Wheel. It looks and works like crap now.

Apple, please bring back really well made software. Stop this infatuation with ******** fashion.
