It's a great phone, but it's not worth $500. You guys should have waited.

My wife and I are busting our butts paying $5500 a month so our son can go to the college of HIS choice, many say thats not worth it, we disagree.. That includes an apartment in Boston. the other day I had the day off and we went out for lunch to kentucky fried Chicken, because he wanted to. His $6 lunch cost me $40 in gas, $9 in tolls. I am doing it again this coming Tuesday to give him his 32GB 3Gs phone instead of my old 3G 16GB.

Some say paying $2500 for courtside seats is not worth it. But until you have experienced it, how can you put a price on it?
Some say spending $800 on two phones isn't worth it, but if you don't have a 3Gs phone then the justification is merely an inexperienced/uninformed opinion which is always welcomed here.:D

And no, I don't.

NO one told you to pay $500. You could have easily save $100, by getting the 16GB for 399.

I paid $399 for my first, second, and now third iPhone gen, and I have NO regrets. Its the best phone on the market. :)

But if you already have a 16GB 3G then you lose one of the reasons to upgrade in the first place (increased HD space).

No but I am going from my 2g to the 3GS.

this. its TOTALLY worth the 230 i put down when comparing it to the 2g i had for the past 2 years.

No one would deny going from a 2G = worth every penny.

Hanging on to my 3G, but it's kind of nice to know that if anything were to happen to my phone I'd be getting an upgrade as replacement. ;)

I'm bummed the store was out of white 16GBs. Was $100 more for white or take black. Black it is. I really liked having the white back, but the black it neato, too.

I use my iPhone more than anything. I use it more than my Mac, my TV. It's an awseome multi-fuction device. It's a cell phone, iPod, GPS, photo album, portable game, and email/Web in one little brick.

Some people just don't get it, and while everyone here obviously gets it, I don't think we each utilize the phone to the same extent. While I won't pay extra to upgrade early, if mine busted, I'd buy a new one whatever it costs.

The only remorse I'm feeling from going 2G > 3GS is the build quality of the device. It's actually getting in the way of my happiness with the product. The 2G's build quality was so solid that you didn't have to think or worry about it. The 3GS (and this was my issue with the 3G) just feels like a toy compared to the original.

I also have a mushy power button and a non-color matched home button. And the battery life has been pretty disappointing so far.

I don't have any remorse when I buy a cup of coffee or fill up my car with gasoline. Why would I have remorse over something I use for a lot more than making phone calls that costs me less per month over the course of the expected one year lifetime than I spend on lunch for a week? And I don't even eat that much or think that lunch is expensive.

Picked up the 32GB model yesterday and it is indeed a sweet device, especially compared to my 1 gen 8GB iPhone! Unfortunately, I was unaware of the switch from 12v to 5v charging on the newer models until now..

Of course now my car audio interface cable won't charge the phone and I'm not too keen on dumping more money into this vehicle just for this, so I'll be returning the phone today.

sold mine the day after the announcement for 250(just wanted to get rid of it quickly before everyone got news of the new low low price) and paid 200 for my new iphone, so yeah a 50 dollar profit and a sick new phone, im happy :D

Get a Scosche adapter -- $24.95. I have one for my car. Works great.

What is wrong with you?

The iPhone is not a cell phone.

The iPhone is a huge advance in technology. The price is steep, but then you realize it's not just a phone. In fact, phone use seems archaic in comparison to all the other uses of this "phone."

I held out for the longest time--wanting the most basic cell phone for ten years with no gadgets or anything--just needed a phone, but the iPhone is not a gimmick like some fancy phones out there.

It is not a fancy phone--it's a whole new approach to communication.

Because some of the apps are simplified for the iPhone, it makes some things even easier to do on the iPhone than they are on a computer--except word processing.

If it weren't for the need to type papers and edit media, I think we could do most of our business and fun on the iPhone.

So, the expense is there, but it's worth it, and buyer's remorse most likely falls to the wayside after you start using your iPhone, (happened to me), even for those who don't feel they can afford it.

Once you start using it, you begin to feel like you can't afford to not use it.

Now that's a good product.

I have no buyers remorse at all. Am a new AT&T and apple customer coming from verizon. Got the new 32g and love it. Shoulda went iPhone long ago. RIM and verizon have nothing that competes in my humble opinion.

There's something wrong with this picture...

I have no remorse whatsoever. I paid the $499 for the white 32Gb and would do it again tomorrow if I lost this one. I've had each generation of the iPhone, and this one, to me, is what it should have been all along. The processor and added system RAM make it a monster...absolutely amazing at how much faster it is. Just take your old 3G and 3GS side by side and open an intensive game/program like Tiger Woods golf or Need for Speed simultaneously. You'll literally be playing the game on the 3GS before the 3G even gets TO the loading screen. I can post videos of this if anyone "on the fence" wants to see. I use my iPhone all day long for business and pleasure, and because of the new processor and RAM, this phone takes anything you can throw at it easily. Just these 2 improvements (processor and RAM) alone made it worth the upgrade price to me. I think people that think "it's not a worthwhile upgrade" really need to compare it side by side with a working 3G. You don't really see the amazing difference until you see how badly the 3G lags behind the 3GS.

Bought my Iphone 3gs for $300 for the 32 gig model.

Sold my Iphone 3g 16gb for $300 to a friend.

After activation and Paypal taking its fee out, I spent about $40 for an upgrade. Good price for me. :)

Remorse? None here. The 3gs speed improvements was well worth it. The 3g network is good in my area and my 3gs just tears it up now. I couldn't be happier.

could people please stop posting stuff like this............................

my girlfriend is going to kill me when I walk in with the 3g s:D:D:D:D:D:D

but everyone on MR says its worth it :cool:

I got my $299 upgrade and went ahead and got my son the $499 early upgrade.

When asking if it is worth it, it truly depends on the persons interest.

For instance, would I get excited of a $500 Coach bag, hell no. Would I ever consider buying sucha bag, hell no. Do I think spending that much money on a bag is freaking nuts, HELL yeah.
replace bag with iphone and there is your answer regarding if it is worth it or not.

I see on this forum all the time people saying they got $400 for their 3G iPhone yet when I check ebay, the end bids are luck to get $300.

The prices have gone way down - the average selling price was about $450 3 weeks ago. I sold mine about a week and a half ago for about $350. My pops just sold his today for $275.
