I use my iPhone more than anything. I use it more than my Mac, my TV. It's an awseome multi-fuction device. It's a cell phone, iPod, GPS, photo album, portable game, and email/Web in one little brick.

Some people just don't get it, and while everyone here obviously gets it, I don't think we each utilize the phone to the same extent. While I won't pay extra to upgrade early, if mine busted, I'd buy a new one whatever it costs.

Same for me, I use my iPhone all the time. I have a 16 GB 3G that a friend is buying. That will cover the cost of my 16 GB 3GS and new case. If the sale of my old phone didn't cover the cost of the new one then I wouldn't have done it. Especially as I'm saving to get married next year.

I see on this forum all the time people saying they got $400 for their 3G iPhone yet when I check ebay, the end bids are luck to get $300.

I sold mine on Craigslist in Southern California for $365 (16 gb black 3G) and my fiancee's for $385 (16 gb white 3G). Craigslist is awesome because you dont have to pay any fees, get to meet the buyer locally and don't have to worry about getting ripped off.

I bought two new 16GB for my wife and I at the $399.99 price each. I sold our old ones on ebay for $680.00. I dont mind paying the difference for faster phones that come with a new 1 year warranty. Selling the old phones made it a no brainer. I listed a lower buy it now proce on ebay for a fast sale and it worked.

I really enjoy my iPhone and "use it every day" so that means I'm willing to spend extra on the device now our in the future if required (not that I want to spend extra).

Can't believe how impressed I am with this Phone...

Was the happy owner of a 16 Gig White 3G purchased last September. I'm in Canada so that was with a 3 year contract... When the new iPhone was announced I was not planning on upgrading as the increased speed and capacity didn't seem to make the high upgrade cost worth it to me...

That all changed on Thursday when my local carrier announced a limited time promotion for upgrades for anyone who purchased the 3G last summer and spends more than a certain amount per month on it.

I was eligible to by the 32 Gig for $349 Canadian. That's the $299 price plus a $50 premium because I have a very inexpensive voice plan due to a corporate discount.

Cost me $394 with tax and I sold my 3G on Craigslist for $365 (boy - prices are certainly dropping for the 3G on craigslist) so it cost me only $30 for the upgrade. Initial thoughts after using the new iPhone this weekend is that it's so much faster than the 3G that I can't imagine going back...

Camera and Video are amazing too !!

Really? So a Craigslist buyer won't just grab your phone and run, unlike with Ebay where you get paid first before sending the phone. I certainly don't want some stranger from Craigslist coming to my house to buy my iPhone.

However, there are many Nigerian princes on ebay who really need that (insert item here) and won't let honest bidders win.:p:D

Thanks for your input.

Obviously, it's worth whatever people are willing to pay. It was worth at least $160 to me. ;)

The cost is greater than $160. If you upgraded when it would have been only $300 for the 32GB, you would have actually MADE $100 on the transaction (assuming the 3g will go for 400, which it probably will in the future considering the 2g is still going strong), so the total opportunity cost of getting the phone now was 100+160=260.
