I can't make it out of work till 5, do you think these will be more or less popular than the ipad 1? the best buy near me last year didn't sell out the first day.
How long do you think it will take to restock?
Should I just buy one online?

Will be more popular than the original iPad. Purchase online.

how many

hi does anyone know if this will be like iPhone 4 where, its like "get it launch weekend, or dont get any for few months", or will it be more like Verizon iPhone 4 where its "plenty for everyone, now next week, next month, etc

I used to get it. I'm a fangirl for sure, and I was in line for the first iPhone. But since ordering online has been an option, I don't understand standing in line. Especially not for devices you already have. I will wake up early to order, but that's because I don't want to be left out when/if it sells out. But I don't need to replace mine at the cost of standing in line.

You might be surprised who you meet in line. It's a social event of like minded people that love tech. The funny thing for me with the original iPad was meeting a future customer that I still sell to this day. Great place to network it would seem. :)

If the weather is crappy, I"m out though, I'll hang out on a nice day but freezing weather, screw that lol.

Maybe I'm getting old but I just don't care about purchasing products on launch day anymore. Unless a cure for baldness was released...

Same for movies and music. I don't feel the need to see a movie the day it comes out, even when The Dark Knight Rises comes out, I can wait a few days.

I am trying to call with an Apple Rep right now and there is a 45 minute wait. I am just curious to how quick they will be offering shipping methods. Overnight Saturday delivery would be awesome. I would gladly pay an extra cost so avoid going to a store.

shipping time ?

Does anyone knows, if we order tomorrow, Friday at 4am, will it delivered on Saturday ??

if the release date was one week from now, wouldnt that be ok to everyone and everything would be the same? being first is a thing all it's own. i don't and have never gotten it. <insert small penis joke here>. I am going to buy an ipad in the next week or so. If it's a newer version than the original, than yay...if it is a discounted "old" version, yay..... hobbies people, more of them if this stuff matters that much to you. Sorry man, got nothing for the baldness :(

This would be awesome. I would definitely pay for the extra cost of shipping! Probably just have to settle for Monday though...

I am still waiting to chat with a rep now to find out. I have 32 minutes left.

I called my Walmart just now and they said as of right now they have no stock of the new iPads at all but to check back tomorrow to see. I live in a smaller County so I wouldn't expect them to have one. I really don't care either way how or when I get one. The earlier the better I guess but I can wait it out if I have to.

Since going to the store would require taking time off work and losing money, it absolutely makes sense for me to pay extra to avoid going to the store. I'd be interested to know the answer on this, but don't want to get up in the middle of the night to find out.

Even Monday would be great. I would gladly accept that. Apple does say "Fast, Free Shipping". Fast to me would be 1-3 days. Not there normal ground that is 5-7 days.

Being in the distribution business, typically "Fast, Free Shipping" means.

Fast: there will be little-to-no delay in getting your order to the dock and to the carrier.

Free: Ground, truck.

Meaning.. They'll get it entered, processed, and to the dock within 24 hours, then let ground shipping take its course. I'm in FLA. CA to FL SUCKS! 5-7 days, easy.

Hopefully someone tells me im wrong.. i've never ordered from Apple online before.

So what does everyone think lines will be like? Would getting there 2-3 hours early be enough time to be able to be out of the store by 5:30/6 PM you think?

I am in Florida as well. Central Florida near Ocala to be exact. The Ocala Best Buy would be my closest location to go to and even that is 30 minutes away.

Are there any AT&T or Verizon stores in Inverness or Ocala? Maybe they'll have stock. (That is, if you're looking for 3G.)

(I'm from Jax; in Tampa this week for work. Considered stopping by BB in Ocala myself on my way home.)

I am looking to get a WiFi model. Everywhere I would use it has WiFi, the extra cost would be useless for me. I haven't had any issues with my current iPad. My kids use it more than anything. iPads are great to keep 3 and 5 year olds in line and well behaved.

I think this iPad thing is only going to be a fringe product, and not a replacement for real computers like netbooks.

A Netbook is considered a real computer? Netbooks are garbage and serve no purpose for the majority of the consumer market. (My Opinion and no statistics to support opinion)

Duh?

They're going to have plenty of iPad 2s people. Geez, this isn't something that blows away the first gen. Apple wants to sell you one and they know they have to have abundance of quantity to support the craziness of fanboys (domestic and foreign) eager to get their hand on the latest & mediocre.

With that being said. I can't wait until the 3 gen. 4G, Retina, iOS5 and please a simple SD card.
