.. and we just switched to FiOS a few weeks ago. One of the reasons being that we were tired of cablevision taking their time with catching up.

Good thing my sister is stuck with iO.

I wish we had Cablevision here instead of Con-Cast.

Nice show... bitch slap those networks. I think we're all tired of hollywood and the music industry's crap.

Lack of closed caption mode for TV programs on Cablevision and TimeWarner Cable app. :(

Never thought I'd be rooting for cable companies against "the man", but props to Comcast and Time Warner for taking on their content providers.

Awesome app! I'm surprised it has a full line up and not just cablevision owned stations (news12 msg, msg varsity etc.)
I wonder if this will work on optimum wifi. Rangers games would be awesome watching the game while at the game lol
For once they did something cool. Thumbs up

Won't work. FAQ on app says you need to be connected using an Optimum authorized modem in your home.

Also can't watch programs recorded on your DVR.

There is no way dtv can legally do it. Twc and Cablevision both require you to have their internet service and you can only use the app from behind their internet connection

Wishing DirecTv would get off their asses already!

I wonder if it would work over VPN or some other proxy. I mean OS X Lion is supposed to have server features included standard.

I havent missed a game this year while at work.... Slingbox to the rescue.

Hope Comcast adds streaming soon now they've been beaten to the punch. But I can forgive as they were early and allow me to control my cable box remotely, which Cablevision doesn't seem to have implemented yet.

I love Slingbox and can vouch for it - just realize the one caveat is that remote viewing outside of home is very much limited by your internet's upload speed. And if you don't have at least 500 Kbps it's not going to work well on the iPad app. :(

The app isn't working for me. I have iO gold channel package and optimum internet service and when I try to launch the app is says a channel subscription is required to view live TV. When I click on a channel it says the channel is not available. I use cable cards at home with Tivos. I don't have a cable box. I wonder if that is why??

Yes according to CV's press release, they require you have at least one cable box. I however would call and try and see if they could some how change it, because I feel like your cable cards should be enough...

hmmmmm...

just decided to switch from dish network and Clearwire to cablevision...for the same price I can get 10mbps vs 1.5 (yeah if i can ever get full signal) and only lose the capability to record two shows at one time...any thoughts anyone?

It says in the FAQ and on their website "Customers require an iPad device, a subscription to iO TV (with at least one (1) digital cable box or CableCARD)"

I have 2 Tivos and 3 Cablevision CableCARDs so it should work.

Get a Tivo with a cablevision cable card. You can record 2 shows and watch a 3rd at the same time.

I contacted cablevision support. They are CLUELESS!!! They told me to try again in 48-72 hours. Not helpful at all!

Ah didn't think to check their site, thanks for posting that.
