That makes two of us then.

I like the new, minimalist Calendar app - I can still get the 'old' list view - just tap "Search".

I agree... I like it. You have to click the search button but before I was swiping between views anyway. I like different views for different purposes so I'm always switching between them.

The new calendar is a downgrade of stupidity and form over function. See the pics below

FYI just discovered a free calendar app called THE GRID that has the month/daily event list mode that I wanted--- the colors to choose from are a little wonky, and i suggest under settings to turn off the "flatten" button to make the text more readable but it's pretty much what I wanted the stock ios7 calendar app to do and look like.

I haven't been bothered by Calendar in iOS 7.

I also stopped using Calendar in iOS 7.

It wasn't a really a choice I actively made, it just happened.

Maybe that says something...

I remember when Steve Jobs said all the other mobile OS have empty/useless spaces...well Steve...things have changed haven't they...

Calendar on iOS 7 TOO minimal

I think that's what Apple meant whe they carefully chose the word simple.
I also dislike the brighter design. It should be darker or at least give the user that option.

"Why kill a man, when can kill an idea?"

In this case, fortunatly, the man was not actually killed, only metaphorically speaking.
Now, they're wiping the idea, a good idea.

I don't know about the man, I don't know him.
But I just loved iOS' GUI. Now it looks like a Dummyphone.

This is just my opinion, and my opinion only.
Some people in these forums take it as an offense to the brand (or themselves)

You dont remember Well.. Apple has been like this for 12 years+ ;)

First versions of osx, puck and current mouse, etc etc

Notification menu

Has anyone figured out how to make all day events appear in the notifications?

ios 7 is enough to drive me crazy. I truly believe this is a terrible step in the wrong direction...

I actually like it. Wasn't a fan of it in iOS6. I did put things on it but rarely checked them out. Now with its integration into the Today view I use it a lot.

The only change I'd make is probably an extended "Tomorrow" information. That's all. (Yes, being able to see a list of events by tapping onto a day was nice, but not critical imo)

Only if you set an alert for them and it appears as a notification in the All section basically.

The whole Today/Tomorrow part in Notification Center could be improved, like at least being able to take you to the Calendar app directly and perhaps being able to see more information about the events you have today and/or tomorrow beyond just how many and just a small chunk of a few hours (which can often just be empty as the next event might be somewhat later than the displayed chunk of time).

The monthly view grey dots should be colour coordinated with events, birthdays or whatever calendars you have. The grey dots are just so wrong!

I don't even think I noticed the meaning of the dots because I have dots almost every day. I guess apple assumes if you're reliant on your iPhone calendar you probably purchased a different app? It's like they gave up making it useful.

Agree. No way anyone who used the month/agenda view in ios6 can consider the ios7 calendar an upgrade. It is a downgrade in every way shape and form. Fantastical or Agenda are great alternatives imo

Not only the downgrade in calendar but notification centre showing ONE upcoming appointment

I've just switched to Fantastical, I find it to be a much better calendar app than the new iOS 7 one.

The main complaint with me is the default view is devoid of useful content, you have to go hunting for things (such as the oddly placed list mode accessible when you tap the search button (?!)). The other complaint I have is that even in the list mode, the colour lines are too thin to properly allow me to identify the colour (I'm moderately colour-blind).

I can see what they tried to do with the calendar app but I think overall it's a fail.

I just loaded the GM of iOS 7 and this is my first day of playing w the new iOS. While there are aesthetic choices I don't love (too many animations, too much white) the only thing that really puzzles me is how unhelpful the new calendar app is: I loved the interface where I could see the entire month plus a listing of the days events below and that is gone. Now there's a lot of pressing and swiping just to see the days events, and if you want a list of events for the month/year you oddly have to press the search button to get there.

These seem like terrible choices. Or does everyone else like the new calendar?

What do you think the chances of Apple reverting to some of the old modes which were more helpful?

(Hope this hadn't been discussed too much, I did a search and didn't find anything)

I'm intrigued - could anyone post a screenshot?
