Here's the deal. Apparently, it seems that Apple's battery creation has some weird anomalies that is.. well.. just weird.

Here's how you do this:

- Goto The "Apple" in the Top Left Corner, select "About This Mac"
- Select "More Info..."
- Goto "Power" on the side
- Copy all info from "Battery Information" (Don't need System Power Settings)

So far, I have:

Battery Information:

Model Information:
Serial Number: DP-bq20z951-3a35-7112
Manufacturer: DP
Device name: bq20z951
Pack Lot Code: 0000
PCB Lot Code: 0000
Firmware Version: 0042
Hardware Revision: 0001
Cell Revision: 0119
Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 12489
Fully charged: Yes
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 12518
Health Information:
Cycle count: 26
Condition: Good
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): -3048
Voltage (mV): 8188

or, 12518 mAh as 100% charged.

It seems that one of the users here have over 17000 mAh, which is awkward because iFixit stated their test system only had 12xxx mAh also.

I want to see how many people have the 12xxx mAh or if there's anyone else who is lucky, have over 17xxx mAh as their max capacity.

Please also state if you have calibrated your battery or not.

I calibrated it fully (the full 5 hour whammy) when i got it, and once since.

Picture posted below

I've already posted it, but you know, for starting off this thread i guess it wont hurt. I'll post my colleagues tomorrow as well because he has 17XXX mAh too. (we both live in the UK if that helps).

Mine is currently 12819 mAh. 2 full cycles so far. I didnt calibrate it when I got it.

I am in Canada, mine has a capacity of 12824mAh, Voltage around 7700. I calibrated twice when i first got it, the first time i didn't follow perfectly the instructions, but i fixed that the next time.

I know, it's odd not to have used the battery. I've been doing a lot of work with FW drives connected, so haven't needed to run off battery.

No calibration, but I don't believe these require it.

Did you calibrate your battery?

Just curious as this is the second person with 17000+ battery and I think kastenbrust said he calibrated it.

13055 here. Calibrated it when I first got it.

Calibrating the battery can't conceivably raise the mAh by five thousand. This is ridiculous. I really want to know if there are more people, I might have to demand one of the high capacity ones. It is BS that some of the laptops have 1.5 times the battery capacity of others.

To the people with 17k+, how long does your battery last realistically? Please post which video card you're using, your brightness setting and how long your battery says it will last at full charge. If you can, please do this when your machine is idling or during light web browsing.

If you do the math, at full brightness while gaming, I use ~5000 mAh. If you have the capacity of (easier calculation) 18,000 mAh.

18,000 / 5,000 = ~3.6 Hours (Realistically: 3 Hours, maybe 3.5 Hours)

Which is a heck of a lot better than us 12-13,000 mAh owners. We'd only get:

12,000 / 5,000 = ~2.4 Hours (Realistically: 2 Hours)
13,000 / 5,000 = ~2.6 Hours (Realistically: 2 Hours)

I hear that.. I'm going to the 2 local Apple stores here and going to check the display models, if one of them shows 17k I'm going to exchange mine. I have only had this since Thursday the 5th, no way I'm going to miss the chance at a 17k battery. This is insane with such a huge difference.

I don't think calibration is the answer either, was just curious if he did. I am however going to calibrate it just to see if any changes take place as to the total volume.

If you type this command in the Terminal, you can see what the Design Capacity of the battery is:

ioreg -l | grep Capacity

After 7 charge cycles, my Max Capacity is 13021, which makes sense, since the Design Capacity is 13000. I'd be curious to see what the Design Capacity is for those who are showing 17000.

I WANT 17000 as well!!

Looks like the vast majority are in the 12K's. Just two so far in the17's? Mine should be delivered later today. I'll try a before and after calibration and get back to you.......
