I'm not sure there are so many owners over there, especially the ones who are ready to sell their _prototypes_... You already got one from me - that is not enough?

I am a collector, collectors generally don't just collect one of something. Thanks! :)

Dude, I owe you an apology for my earlier disagreement with you regarding prototypes. I'd been hanging out so much recently in iPhone 6 forums that I forgot where I was. It's not easy around this time of the year. :D

No Problem, I probably should have posted it in the Apple's Collector sub-forums rather than the iPhone one.

iPhone 5 with ios6

How much does an iphone with ios 6 go for? Mine is the pre-March 2013 model with the lock button defect, so it no longer works. But everything else is smooth as butter! 16GB

I saved it to sell to a collector. I also have a black macbook late 2008 that I hear are popular...

My first and only iPhone....

I have an original iphone

I have the 1st generation phone 4GB. From what I understand it is 'rarer' than the ones with 8GB as the need for more storage happened quickly.

I am going to sell it as I am not a collector. This was my own personal phone that I just kept. I also have a 3gs I will sell but that does not seem to be worth as much as the 1st generation.

I am trying to figure out what I should be selling it for. I've seen some pretty high prices on Ebay. Mine is in excellent condition, not a scratch on it and in perfect running condition. I just unlocked it as well. I have the original box that is in excellent condition too. The numbers don't match, so I must have traded one while under warranty.

Does anyone know what is reasonable to sell for? I have a rough idea on what I am going to list it for, just want to know if there really is a demand for the 1st generation phone?

TIA

I have every edition but from a collection point of view I wouldn't mind one of initial production, fully working and in pristine condition. You got me on this one haha

Would all 4GB be considered initial production?
So you have no idea on it's value?

How would I find out the production week?
I bought mine on the first day, but again, it was traded during warranty...can't remember why, as the numbers on the box do not match.

I think there was a website you can plug in the serial number for info?

For those wondering, the 4GB iPhone was never initial production. It was part of the original production run. When first introduced, the iPhone was priced at $599 for 8GB of storage and $499 for the 4GB of storage. However, after releasing the iPod Touch in September 5th, the prices dropped by $200 and the 4GB iPhone ceased being produced. It was until February that we got the 16GB iPhone at $499.

I do, along with iPods.
I enjoy collecting odd firmware within the iPhone.
(For example, 4.1 on an iP4)

Apple products intrigue me- really for reasons that are difficult to explain and sometimes justify.
Thought I posted in here, well if I did this is another post lol
Glad I'm not the only weirdo :p I love the iPhone 3G, never had one but I remember wanting one so bad when iPhone was AT&T only. I bought one to get some closure! (even though I had a 4, a 5c and now a 6). I still love the way the 3G feels in my hand.

iPhone 2G 8GB sealed in the rare white box, i bought it from eBay. Could reconstruct the serial number, checked by apple --> has never been activated :)

Oh God that's too sweet! Dude don't open it! Leave it sealed for at least another few years. My buddy had an unopened Nintendo 64 in 2012, I remember he got one for Christmas and his grandparents bought him one in addition to his parents by mistake...so he kept it in the box :)

We have an original 4GB here. It was my son's and he's a bit of a collector. It's so odd to hold it because it's TINY compared to the ones we have now.

Fascinating phone, though. Still works perfectly. In very good condition, but he did use it until the iPhone 4 was out. :)

if you read my post above, you will see, that there are still rare hardware specimen. Prototypes are always rare, but cancelled models (i.e. european iPhone 4GB) are also very hard to find.]

Just to clear things up, the European iPhone 4GB may be uncommon, but it is not difficult to find if you know where to look ;) They show up regularly on ebay.de(the German eBay site), and on German forums a lot, and ocassionally you will find one on ebay.co.uk.

Also, is wasn't "cancelled" or "non-released" as iChernov claims, it was commercially released in the UK/DE and was sold by T-Mobile.

Hopes this clears things up! :)

Could you please provide any proof? I have the 4gb european iPhone (demo model), which was not released for sale, and I have words of the Ireland's Apple's office representatives, who clearly stated that iPhone 4GB was not released for commercial sale. And also neither on eBay.de nor on eBay.co.uk never appeared european 4GB iPhones with original and non-white (demo) boxes. I would be very glad to know additional information, if you have it

Collectors really crack me up. I have made a lot of money off of collectors. I sold used records in the 70s and 80s and I had a baseball and football card business in the 90s. There are several amazing facts about collectors. They never ever buy anything that is marked "collectors edition". They really don't give a darn about the item they are collecting. All that is important is the amount of money they are going to be worth in the future. This fact is easily proven by noticing that collectors never actually use or enjoy their collections, they just brag about them and wait for them to be worth ungodly amounts of money so they can then resell them. I know this will upset a lot of collectors to read this but it is the truth. There is no point to owning an unopened box of something unless you plan on opening the box and using the device. An unopened box is basically worthless except in the minds of greedy people.
