I started collecting iPods as a hobby. I bought many of them as soon as they were released by apple but obtained some of the older ones on ebay. Itried to stay away from refurbs and only purchase iPods with the retail packaging (although I did purchase a couple refurbs directly from apple).
I won't be passing them on to any family members. My fear is that the batteries will eventually start to eat them away many years down the road. I've actually consolidated and sold off a portion of my collection over the past few months. Im getting married this year along with potentially buying a house so I need all the funds I can get.
Although I do still have my sealed original First Generation. That one I will be hanging onto for a while or at least until I get a very nice $$$$ offer for it.
I think that you are selling off your collection for some very good reasons
I have heard very little of this "battery eating the internals of the ipod" thing that people have been talking... Is that something that effects iPods more than any other gadget or is it the same as all battery powered gadgets?
