Some trousers I own just about fit it inside but none of my jeans do with a good third of the device sticking out. That's not comfortable, practical or safe. I know people could say, 'well buy bigger trousers/jeans' but I haven't worn baggy jeans since the days when they were fashionable. I don't see why I should add to the headache of clothes shopping by trying to find jeans that fit a huge phone, or compromising my appearance. It's easier to get the smaller device which is big enough for a lot of people's needs.

I've always had a 4.7 inch model since the iPhone 6 and this year I also got the 4.7 inch iPhone 7. The thing is that now I'm thinking that I should've gone with the Plus model but still not sure.

Maybe I could exchange or something but the portablility kind of concerns me but on the other hand it's a 1080p screen etc.. I'm aware of the added benefits.

Anyone here who went back and forth with the models that can share their opinion?

Thanks in advance

Got the 6 b/c 6 Plus seemed to big, but for bigger battery and the differences in software (most are not there anymore) I exchanged for 6 Plus. Stayed with the Plus size when the 6s came out, but now I am considering the 7 over the 7 plus.

I have a Jet Black 7 256 and a Jet Black 7 Plus 128 both arriving Monday, one is going back, I just need to decide. I think I would like the smaller size for portability, but am used to the bigger phone.

I guess I'll have to make a decision soon. It was so much easier when Apple just told me what size was perfect and only made that size. :)

So I got into the hype of the double cameras that the 7 Plus comes with. Well now that I have my phone I feel like it was a mistake, especially since I still have my old 6 around and I can compare the two. The Plus is just too unwieldy...almost tempted to take it back and have it exchanged with a non Plus model.

Anyone know what the restocking fee is like at Apple Stores?
Which iPhone did you purchase? Color and size and whatnot?

Omg I am dying. Lol!

Regarding previous comments, I love my 6S plus. Female, small hands, no problems. Even fits in small purse phone pockets. I can't imagine going back to the smaller size phone now. Best phone I have ever had.

I have small hands and was glad to get rid of my 6s Plus and get a standard phone when the 7 was released. The "right" size of phone is a very subjective thing and for some, the smaller one is better and for others the larger one is.

Give yourself a few days to decide, but be sure you decide within the return period. I waited too long to realize I didn't like the phone and was stuck with it for a year.

I used the 6 and then the 6S for the last two years. I tried many times moving to the plus, but never managed to last even a week. My hand spread open is actually larger than a paper plate and still, the plus just bothers me. I received my 7+ 256 Matte Black and I couldn't get myself to open the box. I flipped it on Swappa for double the price. I am going to find a regular 4.7" 7 and just be happy with the ease of use. I did not find the 2x zoom to be a deal breaker (when in the store trying it). It would be nice to have, but it and the screen don't offset the awkwardness I find with the plus. To those who use it and love it every day....I envy you. I wanted to. Just can't.

I've used a Note 3 and 6s Plus the last three and have never needed two hands to operate them. I don't wear baggy jeans (or skinny jeans) and my phones fit completely in my front pockets.

Hell, my wife is a petite 5'4" and has been using the 6 Plus for two years with zero issues.

I felt the same way holding a 6s+ in my hand after being so used to a 5s. Hard to get used to, its an entirely different way to use your phone. Takes time...

I used a 6S+ for a few weeks when it came out. The downsides weren't as dire as I thought they'd be, but they were there -- kind of uncomfortable in my pocket, didn't fit in car cupholder, awkward to hold up to my face on a call, etc. I was happier after switching down to a 6S (and even happier after switching to an SE).

I don't think it's the jeans that are at fault as they predate phablets by quite some years. I've always thought the Plus was intended more for women as the size is less of an issue with extra baggage.

And I'm sitting here loving the big screen and hoping Apple will make an even bigger screen in the future. Lol!

Cancelled the order for my Plus yesterday after toying around with it for half an hour in the store. The big screen is terrific and that dual camera sure is awesome too, but damn, I just can't cope with the size. I really could see myself getting used to it, but I'd probably have to carry it around in my hand more than in my pocket since at least my uniform pants are way too tight to accommodate the Plus without looking completely and utterly goofy.

Well. If I change my mind somewhere down the line, I'm probably just gonna sell the 7 and buy a Plus, but for the moment I'm quite happy I went with the 4.7. Feels like the perfect size for me, even though the display is a bit small-ish.

There are times I find my 6 plus too large. But most of the time I really like the large screen and the better battery life.

This is how I feel. The times when the size of the plus bothers me most is at the gym and when using it in bed to read.

Bringing it back!!

Three things stopping me upgrading from my GS6 to a 7 plus.

Cost

Lack of pocket space. I must be the only 32 YO male with a 30 inch waist and 31 leg!! Even my S6 is the limit for me and thats not just from a pocket ability view.

Lastly comfort. one handed operation is nearly impossible for me with my lady sized hands lol like I mention. The GS6 is a big as I'd go as I'd not be able to keep a decent grip of it in use even if taking pictures etc!

When the time comes next year the 7 will be my device of choice I think.

Did same thing OP, use the 6S plus for a few days, could not get used to the size, replaced it with the 6S. Happy camper. Now with the the 7+, I chose the 7

The one thing that concerns me about my upcoming JB7+ is one-handed usability.

I Know from experience with my Samsung Note 4 that one handed use with a large phone requires some strange balancing, grip shifting and finger contortions.

Depending on how you live this might not be a viable option.

It's entirely possible I may dislike my JB7+ Experience after it arrives and I get to play with it a few days.

Hmm It took me a while to get accustomed to the Plus. I'll never go back to a smaller phone if I can help it. At first it bugged me and I had buyers remorse. Getting in my car bothers me because when it's in my front pocket it hits the door.

The real selling point is older eyes. The extra real estate helps, a lot. LOL!

I spent the last year with my 6s Plus. Loved it for the most part, but there were lots of situations where it became sort of unwieldily and I wondered what it would be like if I switched back to the 4.7-inch phone.

So this year, I got an iPhone 7. And since getting it yesterday, I do miss the big screen, but honestly I'm getting used to this smaller one again + the portability is so, so nice. I think the usage patterns for me was to try to do literally everything on that screen, including reading books and watching movies and I came to the conclusion that it's still way better on an iPad. So, when I need a portable computer on me, that I don't fuss with in size, I'm more than happy with the 7.

Plus, the battery life gap between the 7 and 7 Plus is the closest it's ever been, so battery isn't too huge of a deal for me anymore. And I got the 256GB model, which I'm very happy to compromise on in trading the bigger size for.

To each their own!

I was curious about that. My biggest reason for always getting the Plus is battery life. Are you saying the 7 battery life is better than the 6s?

I have no issues with the plus. I have used larger devices for a long time now though. My 7 plus is currently otw now. My 6s plus is currently in a Mophie battery case and I still have no no issues. Even my wife has a 6s plus in a mophie case and she uses it no problem even without a purse. I can't use a smaller screen anymore. I tried many times. But if you prefer the smaller devices there's nothing wrong with it. Get what you like.

At least give yourself a chance to try out the new dual cameras. You aren't impressed with them at all? How about the better display resolution on the bigger iPhone? You have 14 days so give yourself a chance to at least absorb the differences in a more positive way. It is unwieldy but while you have the chance at least check it out and put it through its paces and see what the hype was all about.

I suggest you exchange it immediately. I had a 6+ and felt the same way. I upgraded to the 4.5in 6s and now to the phone I actually wanted to wait for, the 7.

You get used to the larger size very quickly....just have to give it some time. Granted, I've never had an iPhone BUT when I first got the Note 4 I returned it thr next day bc it was huge. A month later got it again....now I could never have a smaller phone.

I downsized from the 6S Plus to the 7 this year, and so far I have no regrets. The Plus is super fun to use when sedentary, but in nearly every other situation the standard size is much more useable/manageable.

Same boat; had both he 6+ and the 6S+. GREAT phones. Glad I had the better cameras in them for a few trips I was lucky enough to have taken. The pictures I took are treasures I'll never forget.

My issue is that I lost weight--about 30lbs. Had to "downsize" my trousers, and the pockets got smaller. The Plus phones didn't fit right in a pocket & I never found a way to sit down with a + in a pocket. Having to hold the phone in my hand every time I wanted to sit isn't convenient for me.

Bought just the regular iPhone 7 this week. So much better. And now the camera -- OIS, anyway--is on the regular iPhone so am not missing anything there.

I know I'll miss the better battery life of the +, but I've got chargers everywhere & it's worth it to have a phone that feels better to me these days. I'll still recommend a Plus for camera enthusiasts--it's a great camera in a phone--but am gonna stick with the "regular" iPhone for now.
