WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE CAMERA APP

Will either CinemaFX or iMovie allow me to speed up the video and add music? (Pretty sure iMovie adds music...not sure about speeding it up.) Want to edit some driving videos.

You can add music in iMovie, but it only allows one track and you cannot edit it at all. It just lays the track down in the time line from beginning to end and does not loop. I hope they add some more functionality to that in the future.

Also, if your video clips have audio, iMovie will automatically lower the volume of your music track. The only way I have found to avoid this is to turn off the audio from the video clip.

I don't think either CinemaFX or iMovie will allow you to speed up video. You can cut the middle frames out with iMovie by importing the video clip multiple time and setting the in and out points differently.

You might look at one of the time lapse apps, but I'm sure if they would allow you to edit existing video... you would probably have to shoot some new video for that to work.

Wow, that's amazing. Pretty decent seats at Turner, too. :)

What's the difference between TiltShift Generator and the regular Tiltshift? Which one is better?

I know we are all posting pics of Camera+ and such, but how about some love for Color Splash!

I use Camera+ & Color Splash to make some really great stuff!

I just downloaded Camera+ and enjoy it so far.

Can someone explain to me more about the exposure control feature? I know you use your second finger to point where you want more exposure.

What exactly does it do? What are the benefits from controlling the exposure?

Camera+ gives you real-time exposure control.

Can someone explain to me (a person with no photography knowledge/skills) how this real-time exposure control works? I understand you can place two fingers on the screen to control focus and exposure, but what does moving that circular looking thing around the screen really do for me?

Thanks!

Edit: Didn't see post right above mine before I posted. :)

Question: are these camera apps basically just filters and effects for the pictures? Or do they do more than that?

Thanks...

Take the camera outside and photograph a sunset/sunrise and move the exposure control around until the exposure looks good. Use the exposure to adjust your photo, for example you are taking a photo of a black horse so you are focusing on the horse but the horse is being made grey and everything behind it is overexposed. Use your other finger and choose a separate area for your exposure until things look like you want them.

Hi, this is my first posting in this forum. Somehow I stumbled over this thread an hour or so ago, read almost every single posting and looked at all those beautiful shots. Great! So I just HAD TO register.

It was just a few weeks ago that I accidentialy saw the Hipstamatic ad on iTunes. It appealed to me and so I bought it right away. Then found out about the extra lenses and film packs, hesitated for a second, then decided to cancel the planned bottle of wine for that evening and bought them all. Never regretted it! For me, Hipstamatic opened the door into a new world of photography. It turned the disadvantages of a mobile phone camera into advantages. Like Steve said: "It's not all about Megapixels." I would add: it's about atmosphere. It's about creativity. It's about effects ... That's where these imaging apps come in.

I've tried out quite a number of related apps during the past weeks - like Camera+, Best Camera, Tilt Shift Generator, PictureShow, CameraBag, Format126, Lo-Mob, Vint B&W, Photoshop mobile. As of today, four of them still reside on my iPhone and are in frequent use:

• Camera+
• Hipstamatic
• BestCamera
• TiltShift Generator

For me, this set is a very fine compilation with complementing apps. Among them, Camera+ and Hipstamatic are the ones I use by far the most often.

And to add to the collection of "lost" bikes that XLR8 started today ;) ... here is another one (Hipstamatic):

... plus a few more shots. The first two were edited with Camera+, the other two were taken with Hipstamatic app.

There's an app called Slow Mo that will allow you to speed up / slow down a clip. It will go from -8x to +2x.

What I'd like to find is a good time lapse app. Stop Motion Recorder looks great. It seems like it can be used for time lapse stuff. The stop motion stuff is just a bonus to me. I've almost pulled the trigger several times, but their limit of 99 frames just bugs me. Hopefully they'll fix that or something better will come along.

LOVE IT!!! Braves!!! And what app and filter did you use to get that GREAT end result?

Shot it with Pano, and then used Camera+ for the border and Color Saturation. Photo FX would have done the last step too. And thanks for the compliment.
