What's usually the time for that? And you're talking about Apple's site? Thanks buddy! :)

Usually mid night eastern I think--I'm not positive but shortly after midnight you will be able to order from apple site and any major wireless carrier AT&T verison ect.....

You didn't read the article?

ummm yes... What part of my comment did not compute for you?

there is no reason to be in line yet as its 2 1/2 weeks away.

What employer would pay their employees to sit outside for 2 1/2 and allow them to then sell their own spot for profit? clearly most of these people are either jobless or retarded and jobless.

The article states what employers would pay their employees or who they represent.

Again, did you read the article? Might want to read it again.

Ever consider the possibility that their employers pay them to camp out there for a few days, just long enough for the media to show up and film / interview them, as every clever PR agency would do, vs. paying them to stand there for weeks? As the videos and the articles on them prove, the stunt seems to have worked. Maybe you just don't know how PR works.

As I mentioned on p. 12 here there's countless other possibilities, too. But yeah. They have a few weeks to do what they enjoy in life during the day without further obligations, clearly they're jobless! And hobos and losers!!11 There's no other explanation!!1 Is that your jealousy speaking, because you'd like that amount of freedom with your time management? There's that possibility, sure. But there are enough other viable explanations to safely say anyone who fixates on one assumption and rolls with that stubbornly is somewhat of a ****.

/ signed someone who's neither a loser nor a sponger nor on anyone else's wallet and still has all the time in the world to travel and camp out wherever I please, should I decide to do that. (Mind-blowing, isn't it.)

A question

What would happen if you have a lot of money lying around and you just went to an Apple Store employee and offered him a bribe for sending you an iPhone 6 the first hour it's released?

Can the employee just purchase the iphone like he's purchasing it for himself and then ship it to you just like that? Or are employees in a bind that they cannot purchase iPhones the first week for themselves or something?

Your 15 minutes of fame

If sitting in a queue in order to be photograhed by a news team or photo-journalist is the limit of your ambition to have a moment in the public spotlight then how really sad you are.

stupid people lining up... 15 days before product will be available and the date is not even sure yet....

last time the iPhone 5C was released, i saw people lining for days

i only came to the Apple Store on D day during late afternoon when the queue was reduced and only waited 10 minutes to enter the store and get my device

i will never understand these people willing to sacrifice time and energy just to get something FIRST while everyone will get it on the same day in store or by the net just by booking it online

Does this word "loser" have a any better definition than this act? Anyone in line for this should be eh hem eliminated from the planet as they are no longer deemed valuable. Delete them. Sorry.

:p

Hello all! My name is Jason, and I'm actually one of the guys waiting in line with my beautiful wife. I can assure you that we're not crazy, and I actually do have a job. In fact, my boss is paying myself and my wife to do this on top of my regular pay.

So you can know a little more about myself, I'm 29 years old, I have been married for 7 years, I have a 5 bedroom house in MS, 2 dogs, and 3 cats. I enjoy playing the guitar, reading, playing frisbee golf, and spending time with my friends and family. Seems pretty normal to me. :)

The main reason we are out here is to take advantage of the media attention that these launches attract. My wife and I are sleeping on the streets to promote better healthcare access for Americans through a telemedicine service called Video Medicine. This is not an easy endeavor, and takes a lot of courage to be away from everyday comforts. If you would read more of the articles, you would see that we're out here for a good cause, that it's something we believe in, and not something we are just getting paid to do, which is substantial.

Notice I have not said one negative thing in light of all the nasty words being said about myself and my wife. Use your words to build up, not to tear down.

I appreciate your trying to clear the air but to be honest, the folks here bashing you and your wife didn't read the article, didn't read the subsequent posts explaining the article and they won't read your post either.

When they do grow up they will turn into 'low-information voters' and just continue their slide into hate.

But for me, good luck to you and your wife. And have fun and take pics. It will shock your kids one day when they see you are old and staid.

Im guessing these guys will sit in vain, probably no iphone to be bought before in 3-4 weeks

Sadly no one will read this because here at macrumors, many posters have add and can't be bothered to read past a headline.

Couple that with the opportunity to bash apple and its users and you've got it all.

Based on past timelines, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 could become available beginning on Friday, September 19.

This is awful for all of us who bought the iPhone 5 on Sept. 21, 2012 and are on a two-year
contract.

Edit: I'm on Verizon, and apparently they don't let you upgrade early... at all. AT&T is a different story.

I'm on verizon got 5s last year on the first day. I've been eligible for upgrade for past 2 months

not true, if they have a minimum wage job working 40 hrs a week, after 21 days they would have only made $900 so technically this is better use of their time :D

You glossed over the not so insignificant fact that they're out there 24 hours a day for 2 full weeks, not working a 9-5 5 days a week.

2 weeks = 14 days
14 days = 336 hours
$1250 / 336 hours = $3.72 per hour

I don't know about you but I make much more than that.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter. As stated in another post above, it's obviously a publicity stunt and they're getting paid (more) by someone.

Campers Already Lining Up for iPhone 6 at Flagship 5th Avenue Store

As much as I love apple but this just to much 20 days and no shower pretty gross!

Apparently for some, the iPhone 6 is much more important than personal hygiene. This comes to show that everyone has different priorities in life :)

Alternative title for the article:

And here we have photos of morons out in the wild. . .

they didn't allow pre orders last year

----------

they're hoping to be in the next samsung commercial

Getting up early for one day and getting your order in seems a lot better use of one's time. Unless you have technical problems, if you order at the starting launch time, you were almost guaranteed what you wanted right away.
