Pathetic

You know you've reached a new level of pathetic when folks on an Apple message board think you're lame.

As for the claim of the two who have already profited. I wouldn't call $2.74 cents an hour profiting.

i'm sorry, why are the camping out now for a phone that will only be announced next week? It wont be available for another 2 1/2 weeks... do people not have jobs anymore?

I love knowing that I go to work every day so welfare trash can line up for the new Iphone weeks and weeks before it is released. Must be nice not having to work and sponging off hard working Americans like myself.

I think Macrumors should edit the headline for those people that comment on the headline itself instead of reading the article.

Gotta love how pretty much everyone assumes they're poor losers. Why? Aren't there other options? I can think of a few right off the top of my head.

- Getting paid to do it, as evidenced by the two guy's shirts. (Thanks forum posters for that possibility.)
- Wealthy family (they're never going to have to work for a living anyway, and their families are OK sponsoring that behaviour. If they're OK with it, who are you to object?)
- Self employed and done with the month's work
- Not self employed but they've taken a holiday for the occasion. (Yeah, some jobs are flexible like that.)
- Have a part time job which allows you to schedule your work times such that you can eke out one or two weeks of time in which you're not working (by working twice the time in the two weeks you *are* working) - I used to do that back when I worked part-time.
- Students who aren't working part-time at the moment.
- They work the night shift and get a friend to stand in their place in line while they work

Need I go on? The part that shocks me about society isn't the fact that people would find the time to do this, but rather the idiots making knee-jerk assumptions about their employment and social status.

I guess they didn't get the memo that there is absolutely no difference between buying an iPhone first or 100s in line. It's the same exact phone. Apple will not frame your picture onto a wall. And people will forget about you as soon as news channels run your face.

Thanks, Anne Coulter. Guess you didn't read the article.

This is dumb. What if it isn't released for another month? They certainly have the right to be there, but I also have a right to judge them for it. I question their motives.

LOL.....the iSheep lining up. Another Samsung commercial in the making................priceless!

Lol at all the posters commenting about how idiotic this is and wondering why people would wait just to get a phone....

READ. THE. STORY.

These people are there for publicity. Sure, they want the phone - but they'll sit there and wait in line so the cameras and reporters who invariably want to interview the nutjobs waiting for almost three weeks come to them.

Some are there because they are being paid to be as well.

Yup - MacRumors posters have the collective reading comprehension of a kindergartner.

lol you don't think "regular people" won't be lining up for a phone they know nothing about in a few days? You must be new here.

People need of calm down, they're in line for attention not the iPhone itself

In line for attention. In line for the iPhone. Samething.

Other companies wish their users were as excited.

Oh they are, they just don't feel the need to stand in line so everything thinks they're kool.
